It's always a turn off for me because it makes me think you're hiding something, or manipulating your appearance with angles (making you look better than you actually are)

I wouldn’t say it’s either good or bad. Always depends on the person and their personality. But naturally everyone manipulates angles to look better in their photos. But chances are in these cases it’s done because they’re insecure, not that there’s necessarily anything wrong. It’s not a black and white issue, but I would suggest moving forward with caution if appearance matters to you.
