Do girls forget about guys quickly when they haven't seen them for a while?

I have a big crush on a girl I used to work with. When she left I was going to ask her to hang out. However, she ended up leaving sooner than I had anticipated and I never got to say bye to her.

One of the last things she said was 'we should get a drink sometime' but I couldn't tell if she was referring to me or the group we hang out in.

I don't really message her because she is pretty bad at replying though I've heard she can be like this with everyone. my plan was to ask her out in person when I next see her, but so far our group has not made any plans to do so. I haven't seen her for a month.

Do you think I'm overreacting or will she have moved on by now? Or any advice as to what I should do?

More than not seeing them in a while, they lose interest in guys whom they don't hear from for some time.
They assume that the guy is not interested in them, and as a consequence they move on.
My advice would be to call her and try to set up an outing or a date, and show that you are interested!

I suggest you call her instead of messaging. Even if you have to leave a voicemail. Just ask her if she'd like to meet you for that drink.
