When a guy is looking for a hookup there is rarely an attempt to make any sort of connection first (i. e. no "dating") - just show up naked and start fucking, is the mentality of most men when it comes to hookups. But girls tend to depend on having some sort of connection in order to achieve any sort of arousal. So, if girl preps a guy by making him think he needs to treat it like a real date, it is more likely to result in the connection they need to be satisfied from the sex.
Cuz hookup is a serious thing for them. They can't find a quick fix in any other way.

Because they are looking for something serious only with a guy that lives upon unrealistic standards.
Maybe they enjoyed you company and were attracted to you but didn't see it developing into a relationship or maybe they thought they wanted a relationship but in reality they dont.
