Can playing mind games be a good thing?

I will never initiate mind games.
If I observe a person initiating mind games, there are two routes I will take:
1) If I think they have other redeeming qualities, I will offer them one (or maybe two) chances to correct themselves - either by continuing to be open and seeing what they do or by directly telling them what I observe. This is because some people play mind games like waiting two days to text back because they think it's expected, not because they really want to. If, after that, they continue, I am totally out.
2) If they overall don't have many redeeming qualities, I am less forgiving. I will either just cut contact immediately... or, if the mood strikes and they have been particularly uncool, I might reflect their mind games back to them to give them a little kiss of karma for a bit.
So, no, mind games are not a good thing at all. They are a waste of everyone's time. If someone I like tells me "I like you" I'm going to be super happy. It's that simple. No mind games required.
Oh - a little addendum to this. I also won't assume that something is a mind game when it could have other causes. It's important not to be brittle here. I'm just talking about cases where a pattern is pretty clear.
The only good thing about someone playing mind games, would be that it would make me see a lot faster they're not the person for me... I'll play board games, card games, sex games, I don't do mind games... To me that shows either a lack of maturity or narcissistic tendencies.. Not something I'll put up with...
I'll do all BUT both Mind and Sex games.
@Interstate Sex games more meant like strip poker or naked twisterš¤£
Mind games must be quick and open. Try to catch someone with a clever trick, reveal it five minutes later and discuss why it matters, great. If you are not toxic, messing with someone's mind in good faith can be done well.
If however you are running a scheme for weeks and never explain what your findings were, you are probably just being sneaky and manipulative. That's a bad idea.
Mind games are notoriously hard to structure so that you would get valuable information out of them and imho lot of people are just misinterpreting random behavior thinking they just revealed deep secrets about the universe.
Unless you know exactly what your purpose is, you are likely to play yourself more than the other person.
Only on the incredibly rare occations that you actually know better than the one you're manipulation what is good for them.

I don't see the benefit.
People that like to play mind games always try to justify why they do these things and they also like to find others that agree with them too.
Maybe if you met a person that likes to play these games too maybe it would be of benefit coz you'd be playing them together but I always find people that think this way end up with people that don't and mess them up.
The answer is no! There is no benefit at all!
As a guy, it is good thing. Girls like mind games no matter what they say. They like the drama. It feeds thier need for attention. When you are being honest, open and give your time to them, that's when they get bored of you. They indulge overthinking.
If itās in a teasing sense or toying with him
in a fun loving, cutesy/flirty way, yes. If itās just fucking with his head or testing him, no.
Waste of time & energy.
Why play mind games when you can be outright & upfront?
Literally at the age of 18, I will not stand for mind games. Even now at the age of 21, I have no time for stupid games. Either weāre together or not. Iām too grown for that.
I was going to give up on dating for a while or maybe forever because I was just so sick of all the games. I dated a series of girls who just wanted to screw with me (and not in a good way). I was just sick of it.
No. Just annoys everyone involved. If it was playful and consensual but not teasing for the sake of thinking they'll like the allure.. uh-uh. 🙄😲
i think it's great. cause as soon as i see she does that, i drop her like a hot potato. it makes my life easier, helping me filter out shitty peole i don't need in my life.
I don't think playing that game ever has a good ending
Mind games are not generally a good thingā¦if though when flirting you play with each other by teasing a little thatās ok. But that doesnāt really count as mind games.
No. The word "games" gives the clue. In games, there is usually a winner and a loser. Which one do you want to be? Is it worth the risk?
Sure if you like playing games? And the other party agrees I don't know if it's optimum..
Mind games are for idiots, so the only thing they would help with is pointing out she's an idiot, so I can leave.
Fuck No ! Mind games will make you sick literally. Itās bad for the health. Toxic. Poison.
No, it's a waste of time. Just get straight to the point why play games.
Funny how more women voted no on this then men. Yet they are the ones who usually shit test.
If you are playing them on your partner and not with your partner.. then you are not a good partner.
Quite the opposite. Never play games if you're looking for something real.
Chess is real.
Is not. That's a "good" way of been hated and ultimaty: rejected.
To see if she can figure out your perspective before you figure out hers?
