3 hour teeth cleaning at dentist? 🤔?

My girlfriend who lives with me went to the dentist. I thought no big deal.
two things though.
1. She wore her makeup. Took her 45 min to get ready. And it’s unusual.
2. She was gone for 3 hours for a simple teeth cleaning.
🤷🏼‍♂️ Sounds sketchy to me.
should I investigate further?
what do you guys think really happened?

There's no way to say what happened. But if you're feeling like it's sketchy, you should talk to her about it. Keep your cool, and don't throw out any accusations prematurely. If you start asking her questions you WILL be able to see in her reaction if she's being truthful.

BUT keep your cool. You can only tell by her reaction if you aren't having a big fight. If you get yelling and screaming she can easily hide that she's lying. But having a quiet, serious, intimate conversation with you about these (legitimate) concerns... it would take a sociopath to successfully and calmly lie to you.

I think that because your suspicious, you NEED to find out for sure. Otherwise this shit is just brewing in the back of your head. Either she is innocent, and you can let go of your worries; or she's not and you can kick her ass out. But you need to know. Good luck🙂

From what you're describing, it's pretty suspicious. That being said, there are other explanations why she would be putting on make-up and then going to the dentist for three hours, for example, she had some other engagement that took most of the time and required the make-up, and I get the feeling you're seeing what you want to see and might be blind to some other things that might hint towards something else.

I would say try to get out of the state of mind where you're convinced that she's cheating on you because it's going to lead to you seeing signs everywhere. Try to assume otherwise and only start acting on your suspicions when red flags are raised multiple times, regardless of whether or not there's good possible alternate explanations.

All doctor and dentist appointments do tend to take a long time. A lot of time is spent out in the waiting room and then in the exam room waiting for the doctor to come in. So that length of time isn’t odd to me.

I’m not sure how to explain why she took extra time to get ready and wore makeup though. The first thing that comes to mind is that maybe she has a crush on her dentist?

I don't know what country you're in but in North America, dental cleanings are never more than 1 hour, tops. I've even been done in 40 min if I am going every 6 months and taking good care of my teeth.

There IS the possibility there were other Patients in front of her that took longer than expected. If she wasn't firing any unusual behavior prior to this, I would say you are just over reacting. I know Women like to dress up for the Dentist. I can't understand why, but they do. I would just let the thought roll past you and not think twice about it.

I've had to wait in waiting rooms for appointments for a long time before. I imagine things aren't going faster during the pandemic, where there are extra precautions and probably less staff.

Makeup is unusual. She doesn’t even wear it for work. My recent cleaning took 45 min. In and out.

Lol I’m a dentist by the way. Even in dental school the max it took me to do a scale and polish was 50mins and that’s because I had to wait for the professor to check my work on the patient. It’s such an easy procedure with practice. I kind of think you’re trolling if I’m honest. No dentist would risk their profession for some girl. Even oral surgeries (difficult extractions) don’t take that long. You sure she didn’t get a full face of veneers done or some shit 😂 The only things that add time to random procedures are like say if I saw a suspicious lesion that could be cancerous etc...

Usually most dental appointments take approx 30-50 mins max, if she had a surgical procedure or something

Depends on if her cleaning was a deep cleaning. Those can take quite a while. If she had another appointment before that recently. She may have needed other dental work and didn't want to mention it.
