How long does it take you to brush your teeth?

I always get mocked by my family members for spending way too long brushing my teeth. I never brushed my teeth until I was about 14 and ended up with a bunch of cavities and other dental issues. I had to get a ton of fillings and lost a lot of the enamel on my teeth which led to sensitivity and pain. Tooth pain is something that sends shivers down my spine and I guess I developed a bit of a phobia of it and started "excessively" brushing my teeth.

I spend around 5 minutes brushing my teeth every morning and night. I've never had a single dental issue in the 7 years since I started so I guess I'm doing something right but everyone says brushing my teeth that much is doing more damage than good... like, what?

I time just about everything so I notice I brush my teeth for 2 minutes & my tongue for around 3 minutes.

And after each minute, I rinse the toothbrush off & get a fresh squeeze of toothpaste. I also use different toothpastes for different functions. For my teeth, I use sensodyne & for me tongue I use what's left over from the sensodyne & also some colgate toothpaste I have since it seems to be insanely good at removing bacteria from the tongue.

3 minutes. my electric toothbrush vibrates every 45 seconds at which point you're supposed to move to a different quadrant of your mouth. Well, plus another 45 seconds where I turn it back on to brush my tongue but that rarely goes the whole way.

I've also never had a cavity.

I have no clue. But I brush my teeth 3 times a day and flossing when needed. I haven't had any cavities or needed fillings for quite a while. Once in a while a filling might need to be done though. I'm just wondering when I'll get braces. And yes, that might suck because you can't eat certain things for 2 or 3 years but it's worth it for a nicer smile.

This should be the snack I eat once braces are off, don't you agree? LOL
