Would You Fall for The Guy Girl or Girly Girl?

Most guys would go for the girly girl. The girl who dresses cute, puts on makeup, does her hair nicely and may even flirt. She may even get the attention for everyone when she walks into the room.

But some rather go for the girl who's like one of the guys/one who has a tomboy (tough) side to her. She presents herself with an open mind, pretty blunt, outgoing, yet awkward. she's the type that's not afraid to beat you in a game. She may dress up in a pair of jeans or sweats. She may wear oversized shirts, flannels, sneakers or hoodies.

As for me, I am both of these type of women. Whenever I feel like looking cute and attracting attention, I'll wear something that'll makes me feel attractive and confident. I may even playfully flirt. But if I feel laid back, tomboyish or just want to be myself, then I'll wear a pear of jeans, throw on a flannel and/or crop top and pair them with some converses or combat boots and a choker and/or a beanie.

So fellas, what kind of girl of you into more? What kind of girl would you feel more comfortable with? What kind of girl would you not feel embarrassed to be seen with out in public? What kind of girl would you take home to your parents? What kind of girl would you give that chance to?

See, I'm a masculine dude myself and if both are masculine, there is repulsion. Kinda like how similar poles on a magnets repel each other. A feminine dude would probably be more attracted to a masculine woman. I don't find a girl acting "tough" to be cute at all, rather bitchy. There's one way to be honest and express your opinion, and then there's something called bring a rude asshole. Being rude doesn't equate bring "blunt". Bring feminine or "girly" isn't necessarily about wearing dresses everywhere and liking the color pink, it's more of an attitude. Girls that are "girly" are more emotional, more agreeable, submissive, etc. On the contrary, "tomboys" are more disagreeable/assertive (like men), act dominant (like men) and are less emotional (like men). A masculine man isn't attracted to another man. I don't believe someone is "both". You're either one, or the other. You may show tendencies of the other from time to time, but for most of the time you are definitely one. Let's flip it and apply it to men. Masculinity means stoicism, assertiveness, dominance and withdrawal of emotions. That doesn't mean that the toughest men don't cry sometimes, but when they do you would never know about it. If a dude cries all the time in front of his girl, she won't respect him. Similarly, a girly girl can wear something comfortable, just like a tomboy can wear a dress, but it's the attitude/mindset that sets them apart. The key phrase for me is "want to be myself" which tells me you are more on the tomboy side. I personally don't believe you're just born one way or another, I think with effort you can change it, just like with the right effort someone can learn to be smooth or confident etc. Certain personality traits can change. However, if you don't want to change it, that's up to you.

I would say somewhere in between is best. No makeup, little to no flirting (I prefer introspection and emotional connection), but on the other hand a pretty dress really doesn't hurt. In fact, the difference between jeans and tshirt and a dress is huge in my eyes. You don't have to be fancy all the time but it does help.

Being a bit blunt is ok but there just to be a feminine vibe to it. It's hard to describe, but I really don't want a partner who is essentially a male friend with extra fleshy bits attached. How exactly you express that mandatory femininity, that is up to you.
I heard somewhere that scientists have figured out all the reasons why relationships don't work. To this day they have no clue how relationships do work. People tend to have very unique way of maintaining meaningful connection. Same applies to attraction. Make it very you and avoid the things we usually don't want. There will be someone out there who specifically likes your unique combination of traits.

I respect and agree with most of your opinion.

I think there's no one way to be feminine. Same goes with males. There's no one way to be masculine. A woman doesn't need to always dress up to be viewed as feminine or pretty. And she doesn't have to stay quiet as a mouse to be viewed as such, either. And a man doesn't have to be muscular or show some kind of strength to have some sort of masculinity. Stereotypes are still an issue, obviously.

But, however, I do agree with you, to some extent, especially with the feminine part. But as far as the speaking/being blunt part, I feel like there's a difference between being honest/speaking what's on your mind, than just to blurt things out all the time. Now as for me, I'm pretty much both. I know when there's a right time to speak and when not to. But I have been told that I am a pretty blunt person, which I agree with. Some guys like women who are blunt, and some just like for them to speak their mind. It all depends!

Wearing combat boots and a choker is not "laid back", it's sending a message.

You can be competitive and blunt AND cute and girly. That's a very attractive combination, actually.

But to go "I'm in a tough guy mood, look at my heavy boots. Okay but now I'm wearing a dress so dote on me and be flirty" is less attractive. It just makes it seem like you don't know who you are.

As for my tastes, there are elements of what you'd call a tomboy I like. I want someone no-nonsense, with a personality of their own beyond flirtation, who thinks about more than dressing up as some archetype. But I also want someone who is feminine, and cares about appearing so.
