Why is it that most couples that post endlessly about their relationship on social media fail so horribly?

1- my sister and her husband. They were both cheating on each other and it ended VERY messy. Yet they were always posting how in love they were.
2- a coworker and his wife. They also posted endlessly about how they were soul mates, and unfortunately both died in a murder suicide last month due to endless cheating.
3- a guy on Facebook posted pictures of he and his girlfriend yet has sent me multiple messages to my inbox telling me how beautiful I am, how he wanted to take me out, etc, all while posting about his girlfriend PUBLICLY! And ofc I blocked him.
++many many more situations like this. WHY are couples like this?

This is of course just my opinion but a few things likely.


1. As many people social media is often in the context of Facebook and Instgram (Not always) but often used to represent the best moments or things of something not the worst so couples who are posting a lot we are only getting the positive picture of them not the the more Gray version where there is also negative things.


2. It’s possible some couples post more out of insecurity because they know their relationship isn’t great so they need to reassure themselves and post that it is?


3. Depending on the extent they post it may be a sign of the couple lacking boundaries in their relationship. Privacy to a certain level is important. You can talk to your best friend or parent or someone about stuff but everyone knowing what your doing all the time may decrease intimacy for some couples.

the girl posts too much other stuff and begins to see other guys and the guy doesn’t like it and leaves and the girl talks shit about him while leaving him and turning people against him while she starts with a new guy

People post what looks good. Happiness looks good even if it's faked. That's what gets the likes. Especially, on FB. Most of the people on there are friends and family. A happy couple looks good to friends and family.

I've had #3 happen to me many times. I don't respond to those messages. These guys are looking for the prettiest dumbest girl they can get but have no intentions on leaving whoever they are with. They're looking to cheat. They are posting her to save face meanwhile sending messages to you. What this does is it's a cover up for him and it looks good for him, for her, for his family, and her family. It's manipulation but that's social media. He'll cheat on her then flip it and say I only post you so everyone knows I I'm with you. She knew I was with you but kept messaging me. That's how these guys do.

They are in denial. They post things the way they wish they were. I'm in the middle of a divorce. You wouldn't know it by the stuff my wife posts online. And to to it of she will constantly point out how she rarely ever is on social media.

They probably want attention and to try to spread the idea of love when it doesn’t exist. They might believe it does but it only does for them currently. It won’t when they break up. Or get divorced. Or argue/fight

I guess happy couples pay attention to each other and work on their relationship instead of posting silly things on social media. Whenever I see couples doing this I know they won't last long, maybe they only care about the attention from it

People who spend that much time on social media care far more about appearances and what other people think of them that about things that actually matter. It shouldn't surprise us that their priorities in their relationships are fucked up too.

chale sonnen UFC fighter says when a trainer says "I have never seen him so good" its a lie because he is in poor condition this means a fighter will lose. He also says when a fighter says "I am not training harder I am training smarter" this means they are getting old and lying to cover it up.
