I am gonna be honest it has been nice, but she is just WAY too young for me.

She just likes the conversation. I used to be very good friends with a 12 year old half way across the country. I'm 33 years older than her. We just had nice conversations. She was interested in the music I love and I had a nice time teaching her about it! It was like finally having a daughter, for a while.
When I was in college taking an electronic music class, I met a girl the first day that was only 18 years old, I'm 27 years older than her but, we are still close friends and share music with each other. The sick shit is that, she met a guy from here online when she was 15 or 16 and he told her that he was only 21. She didn't think 5 years was a big difference and over the next few months, fell in love with him. As soon as she graduated from high school, she moved here (nearly 1000 miles away) just to be with him. After a year or two, he finally owned up to being in his late 30's! She was LIVID!! But, against everyone's advice, she ended up marrying that asshole... for a few years. After being abused by him, she divorced him and then caught him abusing their kids and tossed his ass sorry in jail!!
Anyway, as long as you're just friends, there shouldn't be a problem. Or, in at least 3.5 years, she'll be legal and it won't matter anymore.

I don't know, but it likely won't end well. Teenagers have crushes but also have undirected hormones. As such, the odd under 18 may approach you; accommodating her would only make you a stupid man. It is a dead loss, that: she's a child so you likely wouldn't have much in common; as she gets older she'd likely (quickly!) tire of you; and of course, you could lose your freedom or even your life. So, if at any time a girl who is under 18 approaches you, do what I'd do if I heard "music" from Taylor Swift or Justin Bieber---shut it off as soon as it starts!

from what i've heard, such issues are common when a daughter doesn't have a proper father figure in her life. at this age, life in general is confusing for teenagers so there is a good chance that she actually sees you as a father figure but confused her emotions, thinking that she loves you.

It's cute and I still have the dolphin she gave me way back then and will be going to her marriage sometime next year. Her soon to be is one of my good friends. I had this happen with a 16-year-old once, pure accident. I got a random text from someone and played along, we talked for a bit and was like who do you think I am and she was like, are you cute and I was like I'm this old (whatever I was at the time) and she was like, oh I'm only 16 but your fun to talk to.

Depends on where you live, i mean if it's even legal or not. Love how others are so quick to jump to conclusions based on nothing basically.
Just talking to her is okay i guess.

She certainly enjoys your company, because you are different from others she knows.
Your personalities probably match and that's why you two like talking to each other.

It can also be a bait, or a catfish sadly or who knows what else, so she may be not even a girl or not the girl on the pictures. But that's something only you can decide based on the things she said to you and how she said it.

A lot of them do it because of trauma. She might have been groomed by other men around your age that like children and go after men that age now because she thinks it's ok. If you know her parents you might want to talk to them about it.

A wise man avoids interactions like this entirely. I've had long-distance conversations with teens to help them figure out their way through tough situations, and even though it was completely from a mentoring standpoint, they still get attached and try to draw you in, and then spiral downward when the feelings aren't reciprocated. It's just a bad situation all around, and doesn't help anything in the long run

At that age, I also wanted to talk to guys way older. It's a bit of a ego boost to snag and older guy when you see women in their age group who have mastered their clothes hair and makeup. Have their own money, cars, apartment etc. You feel grown.
