I think if you make a joke about it, it’s less “douchey” according to some women. I remember I had a girl tell me that she immediately thinks a guy is a douche if he says he likes cars. For example, you could joke and say, “Yes, I’m a ‘car guy,’ lol.”
Honestly, I don’t care if a guy likes cars and works on them or does whatever… The issue is, I’ve dated guys who put all their money into their project cars or car parts. Like, they are obsessed to a point where they live paycheck to paycheck because of it. That’s not something I’m attracted to, because it shows poor money management or irresponsibility. That’s just my experience.
However, there’s a community full of car or race enthusiasts, and there’s women in there too. I know being a car guy attracts some car girls too. You could also try to find them at car meetups too, if they have them where you’re at.
