Ever been the lonely single friend?

*sigh*, it feels like the universe is conspiring against me.

I’m currently the single friend.

As in, each and every friend I have right now is in a relationship except me.

And I’m the friend they feel bad about.

“Do you want me to set you up?”
“My boyfriend has a single friend too. Do you want to meet him?”
“Your standards are too high.”
“You’re so anti-marriage.”

Let me be. I haven’t met someone I’m interested in. It’s out of my control. You’re not helping me feel less lonely and shitty about myself. Ah.

I've been there, and since found other single friends as well that are also okay with being single until and unless they find a right person. Building friendships with some emotional intimacy and vulnerability has been a huge help in this.
