Is he only interested because another man is interested?

So I’ve liked my guy friend, G, for a while and I know he likes me. I just got out of a long term relationship a few months ago and had sex with G a week and a half ago. That same night, before I hooked up with G, he introduced me to his friend, H, and we hit it off. H asked G if he could pursue me because, honestly a lot of positive reasons. G said go for it and hyped me up, (he explained to me that since he didn’t know what we were he wasn’t going to aggressively claim me as his and his alone when I’m single).

Went on a date with H Friday and told my friends, including G, about how awesome it was. Ended up having an amazing date with G Sunday and spent the night, hooked up. He was different in the morning, like lovey dovey and he seriously looked like he had heart eyes. G has now been messaging me far more than he usually does.

Is he only into me because his friend is? If I pick G over H, will he be less interested because there’s no challenger? Or do you think he actually realized that he does like me and would pursue me regardless? Send help, this love triangle is confusing.

Not trying to make you feel bad or guilty, not trying to be rude either, but it seems like you’re being sort of messy and inconsiderate of your friend. You literally stated that you know he likes you, then you hooked up with him. Yet when his friend asks you out, not only do you “hit it off” with him in front of said friend, but agree to a date and brag to your friends (more specifically the one you say you know likes you) about how great H is and how much fun you had. Then go on a date with G again, knowing you’re talking to his friend. Like do you not see a problem with this? You KNOW he’s interested, there’s no question there. So make up your mind, pick one and move on.

My friend was the one who told him to go for it. I do not feel a single amount of guilt so it’s all good. I’m really just confused about G, because if he only wants me when other guys do then it’s frustrating and not worth my time. He seems to like me more when other guys do as well and the second that I’m not seeing anyone he backs off.

We also hit it off before I slept with G. That night was the first night. He had originally told me that he was into me but thought we should just stay friends so we wouldn’t ruin our friendship. Seemed like a cop out. So after the first time, we didn’t speak like all week long until he called me a week later asking to have a pool day. So I thought we were just friends but then the pool day kinda changed things around for us. I’m not closing either door just yet. I’m in a phase where I’m doing what I want, no guilt. Most likely he told his friend to go for it to see how you’d respond, as the ball his been in your court, even from him saying he’s not sure how to act with you because he doesn’t know where you guys stand. If you’re fine playing with people’s emotions then I’m sure you aren’t guilty. That’s just a messed up person to be. I’m also not sure how you’re confused, since you stated like 3 different times in your post how your friend likes you and doesn’t know your position. It’s fine to play the field as a single person of course, but doing it between friends and treating it like a game isn’t cool.
