It's the typical trash that they print but flicking through the dating pros the one thing they all have in common is the guys all seem to lean heavily to the political right and have a huge chip on their shoulder regarding women having rights or even opinions.
I know we all have our ideal list of characteristics and traits we don't want but is it fair to say a long list narrows the field too much? And given it's harder for guys you lot really shouldn't be too picky?
Guys who are unsuccessful at dating are too picky and have a nasty streak, true or false?
I don't think this is a serious profile. I think this is a man LITERALLY doing what half or more women do all the time on dating sites and that he's trying to make a point. But suddenly, it's only an issue when men are entitled assholes, for a change.
This is 100% a man doing what women do on dating apps just to show them how ridiculous women are on there. Men don't even care about a woman's salary, nor do they usually curse or expect women to pay for their dates.
Here's what MOST liberal women on Tinder will put (and for the record, I'm not right-leaning or a conservative):
Must be 6'0" minimum (no, 5'11" isn't "good enough"). Must make at least 80K a year. Must be in athletic shape. NO DAD BODS! Must be 27 to 35 years old. No kids or old men! Must have at least seven inches downstairs. Must do oral and be good at it. Must own a car. Must OWN a house (a GOOD house too, not no shack). Must be a feminist. Must NOT be a Trump supporter or racist-ass conservative. Must support a woman's right to choose at all times. Must support sex workers! Must be able to handle me at my worst. Must be a grown-ass man; I ain't into no kid sh*t. Must pay for the date at all times.
Back in my dating app days I lost count of how many profiles of that I saw. The big one was women being outright hostile to other political views like "Don't talk to me if you are x and x" or "Trump supporters, do me a favor swipe left." Height was a rare one I saw, but tall girls did want tall guys. "If you are under 6' don't bother. Sorry not sorry š¤·āāļø"

Yup. I've noticed the same thing. Guys who are unsuccessful have all kinds of standards, yet they are bitter about girls who also have standards. They claim that girl's standards are "too high" and repeat the bullshit claim that a guy has to be over 6' tall, have six pack abs and a six figure income to get a girl. "Boo hoo hoo I can't get a date because I'm only 5'10" and only make $50k."
I've got news, Mr. Niceguy. The problem is your attitude. You're not only super picky, you also have a negative opinion of women in general. "It's not true. I love women, except for the 99% who are either ugly, sluts (sexually active), feminists (not lapdogs) or gold diggers (want a guy with a job)."
Heaven forbid that they do some introspection to figure out what's wrong with their personalities and attitudes. Try a bit of self esteem and being energetic, happy, fun, confident, genuine, and likable.
Stop making excuses. Stop acting entitled. No woman wants a whiner or a guy who has a chip on his shoulder.
It could be either, or none. I dont like to genrealize. Every individual is difefrent. So you can't say they are that way, or the same way. Example: I know a guy who is horribly shy and unconfident with beautiful women. He is handsome, a young middle aged man, and yet never had a girlfriend. He does have problems with his confidence and it is deep down, a problem stemming from his teenage years. But he does not fit the decription you are stating at all.
I think anyone who puts out their odd laundry list like this is gonna have a hard time dating.
It's worth noting the article probably is geared to select the most extreme profiles and get engagement going - it's not actually reporting on anything significant.
It's literally just meant to clickbait. And it worked.
Just to be a contrarian, what if we saw a woman with this profile: - don't be fat - have an 80k+ salary - must weigh more than 170 lbs - cannot be shorter than 5' 10" - must be fit to an extent - no baggage - no feminine qualities - must hold liberal values and be open-minded - don't argue with me - I'm not your mommy - you're paying for the first date - 50/50 lifestyle
I'm sure there'd be throngs of people lauding the empowerment of the woman for "having standards, knowing her value, and not settling for less". And yet, if it's the opposite it's because the guy has a chip on his shoulder.

This begs the question of why it's harder for guys. Maybe its because women are too picky? Like in the list of qualities above. If guys lower their standards, that makes it easier for women who end up with more options and thus can afford to be pickier, making it more difficult for guys. And the cycle continues. Only way to break the cycle is to raise your standards for women. These guys just seem to be taking a page out of the women's dating playbook.

I would say this tends to be true of guys... not that women are immune to it as well.
But yes guys tend to develop a higher degree of resentment against women for just be unsuccessful or bad at dating. I think this due to the fact that most guys belief its easier for a women to find a man if she really wants one, be it for day or week or a few months... years is a stretch for even the most attractive women. I mean if a girl just want to hook up with a guy it is not as hard for her. So when a guy gets shot down left and right they blame women for playing hard to get. Were as women just get more frustrated with men for being jerks or lacking any empathy or not wanting to commit. But find a man is an easy thing for most if they have average to slightly above or below standards.
I think it depends on the guy but I think it's more likely that a guy is too picky than it's because he has a nasty character. Because many guys have real high expectations and some of them are less realistic than others. I think those reasons are not the only ones though because there are reasons like social life or your work life. In some cases it's also connected to personal insecurities. There could be many issues why a guy is single all his life. So I'd say it's partly true but not the total explanation.
It's been my experience that simply telling someone he's being too picky rarely results in any change. Often this is understandable. It's not like being told they are too picky will magically make people they aren't attracted to all of the sudden attractive.

Not true in my case. I was heavily abused as a child until I was 16 by my father. Around a lot of divorces and unhappy relationships. I can't even ask a woman out on a date without having a panic attack. Last attempt I tried was the first in 4 years and I ended up puking just from the thought of bringing it up. I'm currently getting therapy so that hopefully one day I can have a healthy relationship. Rejection isn't my fear at all. I'm afraid someone will say yes and be miserable with me because of how my parents treated me.
Women just don't like it when they do, because they're used to being the desired one.

Not necessarily. Some surely are but not all and there's many factors that add to someone being successful at dating. However having unrealistic standards will definitely not help. And let's not start about guys basically wanting a steaming hot, educated, well earning sex slave they treat with utter disrespect
Yea there are guys who's list of preferences pretty much doom them to be single. There is no denying that. The same can be said of women as well. Also both sex's can have huge issues with a over inflated ego and self worth.

Guys who are unsuccessful in dating usually have more reasons for failing than being picky. Yes some will be. But I see the opposite, most have no standards because instead of working on themselves to make them a better catch, they lower their standards, at least for casual encounters.
Those dating profiles are mostly guys taking the mick and actually mocking women as they have so many checklists and qualifiers on their profiles.
These are extreme cases. Dating sites aren't working for even decent men. That's the truth. And those apps are just after money. They charge for everything. Unless you have a great figure or paying for each and every feature you won't even get a match. That's the reality.

In the past I followed on a facebook page in Italian that reported profiles of women with absurd requests from dating apps. New screenshots were arriving every day. Then they closed it because according to facebook it did not respect the standards of the community. Compared to those, these also seem reasonable to me.

Glad to not be part of this miserable chaos this world calls dating. Never necessary for Christians. And all the issues of delusion, greed, superficiality, deception etc aren't problems in Believing circles. I don't think that is the general rule. A lot of guys aren't very picky at all and are quite nice, but are just too shy to take a chance and approach a girl.

Rarely is that the case. Almost always is is because they are ugly or otherwise undesirable and women don't what them or else, they have unrealistic standards.

Oh cool. Today i found out i am too picky and have a nasty streak. I would never have realized this until today. It definitely isn't because i worked on 2 jobs in parallel until 2 months ago and less so me relocating. That's just plain silly and makes no sense at all. Now what?

Translation- women think men are supposed to have no standards and settle for whatever leftovers they can get. Personally, I'd rather be single for life than settle for someone when they're old, fat and used up.
