Why do guys prefer rejection over someone dating them out of compassion?

Several men complain about getting rejected. Yet, if a woman accepts him and dates him out of pity, he wished he would've gotten rejected instead.

The woman that dated you out of compassion/pity at least said yes when you asked her out and is accepting you. That should be better than nothing.

I take the time to respond to women and give a good closure, wishing them well and may they be blessed and find the man they are looking for. Having honor and goodwill to promote a good closure to not leave people stranded is something women know very little about.

What is the difference between a pity date and leading someone on…? To me, there is no difference.
