First thing first, make sure you are allowed to have workplace relationships. Your superior or HR staff should be able to tell you the rules. Often, there are rules against it.

The reason is that it can cause all sorts of disruptions if the relationship ends on bad terms. This is why a lot of companies don’t allow it. It can severely effect performance.

You also want to make sure you have thought about the risks. What if it does get ugly and you break up. Will you still be able to work with him? This is why I’m against it.

If you do feel like approaching him, do so outside working hours. You don’t want to draw attention for flirting and not working. Perhaps suggest grabbing an after work coffee or something.

When she saw she came over and later gave me her phone number and wanted to go out. Thing is, I just thought she was cute, but wasn't looking for anything more. So just be sure he's interested enough...
