I’ve known him for around 3 years, and I’d say we are friends. I only realised I started to have feelings for him a few months ago.
I’m too scared to admit feelings so wondering if there are any ways I can make it clear without literally saying it.
I am only feeling this way due to work and the age gap. He is slightly older than me (I’m 29, he’s 42) so I’m worried he only sees me as a work friend.
We are both single and my work doesn’t have issues with people dating. (Not saying we ever would but I can dream)

The easiest way is by dropping little comments at first, like let him know you remember details about him or remember things he previously said. Make an effort to talk to him, like go our of your way to say hi to him most days.
Then if things are progressing and he seems friendly, find a project of some sort which would require his help, keep it in work at first and let it progress to outside of work and see how you get on.
Hmm, make some excuse for him to come over. Oh gee my computer is broken, can you come over and fix it? Then when he fixes it (there was nothing wrong with it). You say oh gee thanks. Let me show my appreciation for you and let me make you dinner. Maybe dress sexy. Tell him how you feel about him. You can adjust those suggestions to your style
