I made out with my crush but he seems to ignore me after our date?

We went on a date, its getting touchy when we watch a movie together. He gave me that stare forth and back, so we leaned in and had the wildest kiss and made out ever. Not to mention it was very passionate for multiple times. But then when the movie ended he looked so awkward and tired. He later texted me that night saying he apologized for the kiss and i said its ok i actually enjoyed that, and he only replied back ''haha thanks'' im so insecure about myself now it hurts, our relationship is not the same anymore and i have high chance of not hanging out with him alone anymore... any advices to beat off the awkward atmosphere? i still like him tho...
