The note explains that the watch (unused fitness watch) is just for packaging the note but you can keep the watch. Her possible reasons for doing it are 1) Privacy. She needs to get the note to you without people/family becoming suspicious as to why she is passing a note rather than talking openly with you... you may think of a situation where it is needed. 2) so you don't lose the piece of paper that is folded small or it goes unnoticed by you or you forget and mistake it for trash .
