Guys, what do you think of a sweet, quiet girl who suddenly stands up for herself?

particularly what would you think of a girl you're normally nice to but act out of the ordinary and are rude to, so she, to your surprise, stands up to you and boldly asserts herself? (not in a mean way but in a firm way)

do you think less of her? avoid her out of embarrassment? gain respect for her? walk on eggshells around her? ? like her more? find her more interesting? like her less?

I'm a sweet quiet girl that's normally nice, but when I finally stand up for myself and express my feelings people have a huge problem with it anSo d treat me like I'm crazy/stupid.

They can get as angry and complain as much as they like, but it's a problem when I do that. I have feelings too!

I think it comes from people expecting us to be sweet all the time and continuously getting away with being mean or annoying to us. taking advantage of us, and doing/saying things to us that an ordinary person wouldn't let them get away with.

I would be impressed if a fellow sweet, quiet girl suddenly stood up for herself!

he would probably be relieved she finally grew a pair and stood up for herself. no one respects doormats that they can walk all over and disrespect. if you don't respect yourself no one else is going to. a girl that never stands up for herself isn't really attractive to mentally healthy guys..unless he has some capt save a chick complex or is looking for someone to take advantage of

Well it could be surprising, maybe a little confusing, but ultimately it's a good thing that you stood up for yourself. Depending on how he regarded you in the past it might affect how he behaves towards you in the future though. Me? I would think it was a good thing.

Depending how it went down, I'd probably feel that I've messed up big time and blew all possible chances with her. Maybe I'll watch what I say around her more carefully and feel a little awkward, since my memory is superb... it certainly wouldn't be something I'd easily forget about.

In the other case, it might spark my interest. Certain girls are more attractive when they are feisty or sassy. I also think it's important for someone to be able to voice their concerns when something is bothering them. Dating someone who hides their feelings usually becomes a one-sided relationship and never has a happy ending.

I would be proud as hell. I'm a big guy. If I was ignorant enough to be rude to my wife, and she got in my face...hell yeah I would be proud of her. The only thing I fear on this earth is hurting her.

She has a habit of teaching me with my own words from time to time. I love her for that too.

She is about as sweet and quite...well some of the time *grins* as they come.

I think I'd respect someone who stood up for herself rather than let herself get treated poorly. If I was mean to a girl and she stood up for herself, I'd respect that. We might not agree on everything, but maybe I'd realize I was wrong, and I'd see that she had a backbone, which is always good.

An excellent strategy, it really puts your adversaries off balance. Just don't go too far and throw a fit. There's nothing worse than having a strong position because you're morally right and then weakening it by going too far and freaking out.

if I was truly disrespectful and she stood up to me I would definitely respect her more. if I was already attracted to her my attraction would probably grow after she stood up to me.

I would be completely embarrassed that had to stand up to me (though I don't think that's necessary for me really) I would definitely gain respect for the girl and I would definitely find her to be more interesting knowing that there's a "tough" side (though beware of trying to be being provoked into showing this side if you don't like it) and if I said something that was completely irrelevant or offensive please let me know.

Yes, recently had this happen. I really admire the person. When something important is at stake she stand up for her friends, and herself of course.

I would be embarrassed of myself and prob avoid her, yet I would def gain respect and find it surprising/interesting that she reacted that way. But yah I'd feel awkward for a while after that.
