Is it wrong that I want my boyfriend to stay home and skip class because it’s his birthday and I want to spend more than just one hour with him?

I’m bringing him a cake too. I just don’t want to have to leave in an hour I want to spend as much time with him before I go to work. He doesn’t have finals until the week after and he’s a smart guy I think that he’ll be fine. His bday is tomorrow

Did he maybe not want to be with me? After he finished class he went to get his emission for his car and ran errands even though I stayed at his house alone playing videos games for hours until I had to go to work. Couldn’t he have done his emission stuff some other day or does it have to be only when you just turned 25? Other than that everything went fine and I headed to work.

I have a temporary job and they’ll fire me for more than two absences which I already have. That’s why I can’t take a day off

Yes it is... It's not just about missing school, it's that you're making his birthday about how you feel, what you want instead of what's best for him... Anyways, but especially on his day, not yours so it should be about him, not you. And you're still going to work on his birthday so why shouldn't he still go to class.

Birthdays don't always have to be celebrated on the actual day... You can plan a little celebration on a day you both have more time for it...

It's a good sign he is being responsible and wants to go about his day, get things done. He's not too focused on himself.

I think it is unfair and not smart to turn his birthday into a stressful event. One where it becomes a pleasing of you rather than him.

I was serious about school and didn't miss unless i was sick. Now work? Thats a different story. can't you give him the cake after school? Or just surprise him at school after class. If you’re not willing to be late/miss work then he shouldn't have to be late/miss school

You dont realize, when you miss school, you miss a whole lesson plan and important questions to ask for the upcoming finals. He needs school in hopes he gets a good job. It’s not wrong to want what you want. It IS wrong to manipulate him into giving you what you want, especially on HIS birthday! Let the irony of that sink in for a moment.
If he wants to go to skool, or work, or any other thing on that day, that’s 100% his prerogative. And you definitely shouldn’t guilt or shame him for it. Plan to spend more time together on a day when you both have more time to commit to each other. That’s adulting, prioritizing responsibilities over whims.
