Should I just DM her?

So there is this girl that works at a fish store. I live in a fishing village so it's a big part of the economy. She is always very nice and I noticed her blushing when I came for some fish. We follow one another on Instagram.

Today, when I was on my bicycle (yes, I am Dutch) I saw her and she greeted me. I noticed to late it was her so I generically greeted her like I greet everyone else. A missed chance to ask her out because I rarely get to meet her one on one.

Should I just take this situation and DM her "I saw you today, I didn't notice it was you untill I already cycled past you." And get a conversation going from there to eventually ask her out via text?

I am not a texter, I am much better in a face to face conversation. But should I just go for it and hope for the best?

I would highly recommend face-to-face especially since you're better at doing so! From what's stated, I guess, she likes you, especially since she blushed (unless it was a hot day of course)!

Face to face is more meaningful, and you have the huge benefit of being able to read her facial and body language.

However, a lot of shy people (and there's a ton of shy girls out there) actually like having that bit of distance they get through text. Gives them time to process, think, react, and more carefully craft a response. So while it's sweet, and not really wrong, that the other commenters are recommending face to face, I don't think it's a clear cut decision to approach it that way. It can spare some awkwardness. Especially for the types who blush, get tongue-tied, etc.

Anyway, good luck. Do something, take a chance. You only get good things - the ones that you really want - by taking some calculated risks sometimes.

The problem is I don't know when I will get the opportunity. I either see her in the store while she is working and there are many people, or I have to accidentally meet her on the street at random.

I say face to face but if you have a hard time being able to do that, then yes, you should send her a message on Instagram to lead it to face to face.
