What to do if your mom doesn't accept your online boyfriend?

l come from a strict family my mom and dad prefer that l don't date, and we're Christians which makes it a whole lot worse my mom believes most people online are bad and evil. I met my boyfriend on a website for making friends, l guess l felt lonely since l have always had social anxiety within me we started off as good friends then after a week he told how he felt about me and than he asked me to be his girlfriend, l said yes, l was so happy that l had finally found someone who understands me and will never want to change anything about me. 6 months passed by quickly and my mom found out we were dating, she found out one night when l had fallen asleep while talking to him and unfortunately my phone was on and l got caught my mom is angry with the fact that l disobeyed her rules, and also that he might be lying about his age and where his form on Tuesday she made me break up with me and block him so am now confused whether l should reach out to him and ask him to wait for me for the next 3 years until l am done with highschool

I don't think there's much you can do. Reach out to the guy and explain the situation to him, and go about your life after. Unless you wanna be rebellious and keep contact with him but I wouldn't advise that

Your mother sounds unreasonable. But your age would affect any sensible response.

Your mother certainly sounds hugely over protective. From. her position she probably thinks she's keeping you safe. But humans are sociable creatures. We learn and grow from making connections with others. At 16 you should have some freedoms to explore your world.

I feel like his my soulmate tho I feel like l found my one and only best friend he really really understands me better than anyone, but what if my moms right what if he's not 18 and some guy trying to do something bad, we have called and l have seen him on video call but sometimes l do have doubts, l really want to ask him if he's really willing to wait for me for the next 3 years, if he does say no it would truly break my heart

Unfortunately I can't give you meaningful help with the doubts. Meeting someone is going to be one of those things in life where you have to take a chance. Maybe you and mother could meet him to set her mind at rest. If he's a person she's met he becomes more real rather than some Internet bogey man that she can dismiss.
