What are your thoughts about this story?

Met a guy online, talked for a month he plans to fly to my country in a month. So i would like to hear other people’s thoughts about this. I've met a guy on dating up , he is 25 from France and i am 21 from Austria about a year ago, we talked one day and that’s it. i thought another follower to instagram i guess. then a month ago he replied to my story and we have been talking kinda almost everyday, also video calls since then. he was still on-off and not very consistent with his communication so i thought he isn’t serious about me. he suggested to me to fly to France since i really love the french culture and i study french, he invited me to stay at his place. I actually started thinking about this but then he messaged me the next day, “well i think it would be better if you take a hotel than staying at my place since in a month so much can change maybe you or me will meet someone else!” I did not expect this, so i told him well if you already thinking about others while talking to me then that’s it , goodbye. He said he didn’t mean this way, that he said that because we haven’t meet in real life and maybe there won't be a connection or we decide to stay just friends so he thought it would be smarter, which i agreed on. financially i am not able to afford a trip to paris this year. I told him that, and he said well, then i will fly to meet you! this caught me off guard since i thought he isn’t that serious about me. and now i am just so confused!! he plans to come to my town in a month, for vacation and to meet me. i would like to hear other peoples perspectives on this story. thanks to all, have a great weekend!
