Why are people more judgmental toward a man's appearance than a woman's appearance?

Often time you will hear people bad mouthing the appearance of some men and even name calling them. I've heard some comments toward guys that they look like creeps, losers, nerds, geeks, w/e. Also criticizing the body of men much more than women. Somehow even if a woman is ugly as hell there's always people that say she's attractive. Why is it like that?

They're not. IRL most men wear average clothes, while women are more likely to dress in things that are revealing or just kind of absurd or unflattering. Unless a man is just particularly dirty looking, they usually blend in with the crown. This women are usually more judged. And rightly so.

No it doesn't have to do with clothes. Its more about face and body. People seem more critical toward the faces and bodies of men then they are with women.
