No. He'll say yes if he's interested. Y'know just like you would say yes if you were interested in a guy that asked you out. But would say no if you weren't.

Let's start with the easy one first: how to ask him on a date.
Next time you see him, ask him what his plans are for whatever day you're both available. Ask him if he wants to go out and do something with you, or grab a meal.

He might ask, "Is this a date?" To which you can reply, "That depends- are you interested in going out with me?"

Now if he makes up excuses, doesn't seem interested in going out, or doesn't give you a direct answer: back off. That means he's not attracted to you in that way.

Or he might just point blank say he just wants a friendship. Same as above- back off and assess if you want to stay friends or distance yourself a bit so you can move on.
