Can I reverse exclusivity?

I am dating a guy for over a month and we went exclusive pretty quickly after dating for a couple of weeks because we only wanted to focus on each other. Lately however, I am having some doubts about whether that was wise as I do have some doubts about him and wondering if this turns into something serious, I might not be ready for it. How will a guy take it if I told him that I want to date some more? Obviously, he can too if he likes. I’m just nervous about bringing this up, I don’t want to upset him or make him feel that I like him less.

There is a book called The Ethical Slut. I have not read it but it was recommended to me by a woman who went through something similar to what you describe and she claimed it was helpful.
