Getting dates and striking out?

So when I was in High School I was really good at baseball and that would help me land girls like they liked that I was like super good at baseball, but I was never good at like flirting like I get super nervous. Now that I am out of high school and I dont have baseball to impress them with I am having a tough time. I am in really good shape and pretty good looking so I can get dates because of my looks but I always blow it. I am terrible at flirting and keeping girls interested. My dad passed a few years ago so my moms a widow and I see like all these girls flirting with her and hitting on her and I just to see what works and what doesn't. But it doesn't work when I try to use it on girls it comes off as awkward. How do I get better at flirting and getting second dates
