Generally speaking, that is. We know there are exceptions to this old saying that says a man can fall for a woman simply based on her looks and the rest to follow later (attitude, etc.) but a woman can be picked up by a man and fall for him if the man knows what to say to the woman

three of the women I fell for... I heard either their voice, their laughter first, and also the things they were saying and the way in which they spoke about it, so I did "fall" for that before I even had my eyes on them
then there was another of my ex-girlfriend who yes, was strikingly attractive... but there were many and plenty of attractive girls for that class/college campus... the one time I really "fell" for her was that one time she corrected my math... lmfao

I think it helps to be appealing to the eyes and ears, but if possible, a good dose of sincerity can sure go along way. Glad I'm not in the dating scene these days, because I'm sure it's more complicated and challenging than it was over 20 years ago. Everybody can be a good actor and if you divulge too much information about yourself, you're only giving another individual ammunition with which to "fool" you :-)

But "fall" is a general term, and what does it really mean? It's not about love, commitment. Maaaaybe lust?

I'd say that is close. I'd also say that men fall in love with their eyes, and women fall in love with the man's wallet. At least if she is a leftist.
