A guy I know has been struggling and expressed he’s down. I asked him to come out with me and it’ll be on me for a treat to cheer him up. He said thanks but he’s not into it. Is he not interested in going with me or just wants to be alone?

If he is sometimes wants to be with you or not, outside of a bipolar episode, then he is not in the groove...

I think he is just going though a bad patch , and doesn't want to bring you down , I don't think that its because he doesn't like you , keep up the dialogue , try and keep it light , see if you can help him find a better place , he may well then feel more social.
