I got told that father once had a fling with a nun and it went on for quite some months, when I was 5 or 6. Just another medal of pride (sarcasm), although according to my mother, that woman is no longer a nun and now is married with children.

Side note, where I live - Catholic country - many town priests have a perpetua living with them - a domestic woman that can be an ordained nun or a laywoman that functions as his assistant and caretaker.
It's pretty much an open secret that those people live as husband and wife, even if not formally married.

I personally don't think I would, an affair is based on sex and if I imagine a priest or a nun I would imagine someone much more inexperienced than me or who had only a type of hidden lovers and social environment so far around the religious circle only (or mostly), which most likely has unwritten rules and roles that definitely wouldn't fit mine, plus I imagine them quite thirsty when they get the occasion, and this combo is not really attractive for me. I can't imagine a priest "flirting", neither being different than "conservative/impositive" in a fatherly manner, that would turn me off a hell lot.
"Never say never", but that is my prejudice as so far I never had any of these hookups.
I am an atheist anyway so I don't care about their religious integrity, I'd take it like it's their own choice as adults.
While if "affair" is meant like cheating on my actual partner then that's a firm no for sure.

Yeap, my best friends married and we still hook up occasionally. She knows and she knows her relationship will always be secure with him. I won't take him from her nor will I allow him to leave. But thankfully he's not the type to do that.

I understand. This seems to be best way to make everyone happy, and I'm glad it's working out for you guys.
I personally believe it's normal and human to love more than one person romantically, and I also believe that everything you have with that person is unique.

In my case it's not really sexual or romantic, but I often attend opera and art expositions with a woman who's not my wife because she's an entusiast like me. My wife knows and approves because she's not interested in those things at all so rather than getting dragged to something that'd bore her to death or making me go alone, she lets me go with her.
Maybe it doesn't count but for me it's still sharing something very special with another woman who's not my wife.

It is! Not just because we share those big passions, but I also admit she's really a quality person - intelligent, empathic and passionate. I also admit I really like her style and there's a bit of chemistry.
Naturally I told my wife, she's happy but also said that if she wanted to know everything she'd come with us. As long as I am a present husband and father, she's happy.

I don’t have an attraction to nuns. …but I once had a fling with a (much older) protestant minister who was married. I met her in the hotel when attending a friend’s wedding while I was in college. We spent the evening together, and I learned in the morning that she was officiating the wedding.
