How can I politely reject a guy without hurting his feelings?

I am going out with a guy , he is particularly lovely the conversation between us is very good. He appreciates me , gives me attention and time. He checks of all the emotional qualities a person would expect from the person they are dating or would like to date but still despite of this I don't feel physically attarcted towards him because he is shorter in height. Is it my shortcoming that I am so superficial that I can't see anything beyond his beight.

FYI - I am 5'8 and the guy in question is 5'6

That said, attraction is attraction and that's important to keep things going. In the long run, it's the other stuff that is more important - the stuff this guy seems to have and that you need.

Imagine if you were blind. Who'd you want more than this guy to take care of you and be there for you? The taller guy who isn't nearly as good as this shorter guy, yet you can't see either?

Once he's developed feelings he will be hurt regardless. Its best to let him down softly and fully, no half-doing it. If he has feelings he may cry, but if he is genuine he will accept this and move on.

Posting from experience; last year a friend did this to me and I greatly respected her for being as gentle and caring as she was. She toned it as if she had done something wrong. She was too perfect, I wept that day.
