I asked my crush (who's also a mate) to the movies, he saw the message but didn't reply till hours later?

I sent my crush (who's also a mate) a message saying 'would you wanna go out for dinner and a movie with me, tomorrow night.

He read the message and then a few hours later replied; 'sorry I couldn't reply works been so busy today, yep, definitely, sounds cool as'.

I said 'cool, I have heard it's a good movie'.

He replied with 'I'm not picky with movies lol'.

Does this mean he might like me as more than just a friend?

We have never hung out, just the two of us. We have always been in group settings, with mutual friends.

I'm not sure what to think.

Help me out peoples. I really like him but his reaction and replies feel more like a good ol mate than a guy with feelings, am I right to assume he is just being a mate and does not have feelings for me?
