Yeah, they're much worse than they were about 10 years ago. And worse for men than women. Men are bombed with tons of fake accounts flirting heavily as soon as you finished setting up your profile. Plus escorts and cam girls nowadays try to get your attention on there too. Once upon a time you could actually talk to a real woman for a hookup, and one you didn't have to pay for, but nowadays men have to weed out all the bullshit on these apps.
And even when you do meet real women, they are either flaky and scared, or overselling themselves to a point of just coming off as self-righteous.
@ManOnFire I love dating apps and in my opinion they are a huge advantage for men. Problem is most guys don't use them correctly.
@Vegasrunner how do you use one correctly?
@Keishio For starters most guys buy into the belief that men and women are equal when it comes to dating so they approach online dating like women however online guys...
1) Shouldn't be searching for "the one" rather focus on talking w/ as many women as possible.
2) Post a bunch of photos of themselves. Post a couple pics of yourself preferably 1 head shot, 1 action shot, rest should be random stuff that interest women. (Animals, homes, vacation spots etc.
3) Sending long opening lines - Believe or not Hey actually works. So much of what women are looking for is attention, guys make the mistake of giving it away for free online. A short intro is a great way to weed out those type of women, and you can even convert some women that claim they don't like that opening. I once ended banging a girl online after she reached out to me to tell me why hey as an opening line doesn't work.
4) Chit chatting - Once you match, send a couple of messages and then set a date immediately.
5) Planning extravagant 1st dates -Coffee Dates work. There a cheap way to vet a woman, plus it limits you having to wonder if you're just getting used for a free meal.
@Vegasrunner I thought that was pretty much standard practice for dating sites. I'm surprised people would use them any other way
@Keishio Unfortunately its not.
1) Most men use dating sites in hopes of finding one date.
2) Most men have numerous photos of themselves in their profiles.
3) Most men send long complicated opening lines.
4) Most men go back in forth for weeks online w/ girls.
5) Most guys take girls out on dinner or extravagant dates on the first date.
@Vegasrunner I've done all those things and never really had any success with it. Setting a date immediately with the last woman I talked to on a dating site actually seemed to make her run away. It's like I want to believe in them, but I feel like it's more of a set-up for men than women.
@ManOnFire What's the "set up" part?
@Vegasrunner Well, dating sites actually bank on men throwing money into them with the hopes that upgrading to premium accounts will get them more luck. They offer this option to women as well but dating sites know that more men than women sign up to them. So if they can game guys for cash, and send them fake profiles at the same time to give guys false hope, then they're making a profit, and also able to keep plenty of guys around for women users who will have plenty to choose from, and a much easier time meeting someone - and for real - than guys will.
@ManOnFire I heard that b4 I used dating sites for the first time three years ago, but I personally have never paid to upgrade to for any site except Match. com and I did that primarily to view my likes. Plus I've met and gotten laid by actual women on the site' so I have a hard time seeing the "Set up" aspect because I've met flesh and blood women from these sites. in my opinion it's more about how guys use dating sites than it is a set up. I've gotten laid by women off Tinder, Hinge, Match, and POF, so I can't in good faith believe its a "set up"
@Vegasrunner Maybe I should try it again and see it how goes. The only half way decent one I've been on was OKCupid.
@ManOnFire TBH I think it's a mindset, unfortunately a lot of younger guys are being brainwashed to believe men and women are equal so it's stunting you guys growth. Women are simply a volume game and online dating should be a place for you to increase your volume. in my opinion it should just be another tool that allows u guys to meet women, remember back in the day u had to go to the bar, the mall etc, it took a lot of time and energy to meet women, w/ online dating it takes almost none, unless your attempting to find the one. Here's a couple other ways I take advantage of online dating apps.
1) I online check the app once every 7 days - allows me to see who's reached out and keeps me from sending a bunch of thirsty messages
2) I don't go on one date until I have 3 lined up - Women are not special I know it sounds mean but after you've been w/ enough u start realizing they're pretty similar, I don't want to put all my time into one rather spend a little time w/ multiple ones and then make a decision.
3) Coffee date only - for 1st date if she doesn't want coffee then she probably wasn't interested I only want to spend my time w/ a women that has a high attraction to me, to many guys make the mistake of believing that how they feel about a woman matters. Women don't care how u feel about them it only matters how they feel about you, and women that are into you will go anywhere at anytime to see u.
@Vegasrunner Okay, great stuff there! Especially that last part.
I did until I found out the average guy’s matches with every 1 in 10 but I was like 1 in 6 so apparently I’m better looking than I thought I was or girls are just weirdos people forget just because a girl is pretty doesn’t mean she isn’t a freak ( not the sexy kind )🙄
It varies. Men shouldn't believe everything they read on the internet. At least try, adjust and try again then you can say it sucks but most don't even try.
Well I did try and the results were shocking I was expecting maybe 1 or 2 matches a month but I think a lot of guys should try
You ever see a Howde? ( How’d he get her?) girls have types too what’s ugly to one girl is attractive to another
It's really no different then going to yelp and seeing some bad reviews on a restaurant and deciding nah I guess we will not try that even though there are many who love the place.
Actually many guys tried and hopelessly failed. the average guy gets about.01 follow-ups that become a first date.
That means he would have to shift through a several hundred girls showing interest in each one, to get one hit that only turns into one date.
If he is really good-looking and flexes some of his wealth in his activities, status and material items either in his profile or photos, that number improves.
@Qdbrown I mean I workout but I’m no supermodel and I still had to swipe through 100s haha
@Qdbrown I would say the average profile gets about.01 follow ups. Problem is most men aren't really putting the effort they should into the online dating experience it deserves believe me I have seen these profiles.
I get over 30 likes a day, but no comments. If a conversation strikes up it’s a back and forth of how’s your day and then the guy says “wanna hook up?”, then I block or delete him. So, 1:50 have something to say that leads to me being asked to hook up with them. It’s just not worth my time

People who are tired of dating sites have probably had minimal results wth the sites and I think that happens primaril because people don't know how to use them properly. Being competent at traditional dating does not automatically insure that you will navigate the online world wth equal competence but I think people make minimal effort while expecting instant results.
I am not on dating sites now because I found my partner. . . online. I am not a 10/10 and not the guy who every woman automatically wanted to be with, but when I was using the sites, I go go online and have first dates wthn two weeks. And if I was not meeting the right woman, I could have another first date the following weekend.
The people who don't use online sites properly will come back wth excuses to blame for their lack of success, but I came back with a genuine, loving, devoted partner!
@Jersey2 The last time I was using dating sites was 2020, so I doubt it has changed much since then. I have previously posted many times on this site about online dating and my tips and suggestions:

Definitely, I'm sick of logging in and having a 1000+ messages to respond to when its only been like 3 days. Geez... enough of that, I'll just take my chances with people in person, that is far better.
Of course in person I have to worry about people who think I'm flirting when all I'm doing is talking to them.
They can work great to meet people but guys are so impatient, they think they are the ONLY one messaging me and if I don't respond right away they think I don't like them.
I don't hardly use them, mainly cause I spend any free time I have on GAG 😂. I have some I haven't logged into for months or years though.
Wait sooo women and girls are sick of getting too many messages on dating apps and guys are usually disgruntled not getting any messages. It goes to show me that I don’t think women or girls are that serious using a dating app, no need to create a profile/account if you aren’t going to use it.
@pass_the_celery98 Oh I respond to plenty of them, before I give up. If there is a option to inactive I will... to hide my profile. No way I can respond to all of those messages though, but at the same time if I have a few I like, no point in responding to others either.
thats super true...
also there's a lot of fake people and every girl there is a gold digger
1000+? must be nice considering many guys (according to studies) would not rack up that many messages in 150 years with them putting in actual work to be somewhat desirable. am not awsome at setting up a profile but in around 6 to 8 years, maybe 220 messages with around 90 to 96 pecent of those being bots, scammers, prostitutes, drug dealer networking attempts, and people using the app/s as a game of "how much attention can i get in (varying set amounts of time) . leaving me with about 8 to 15 actual women to talk to to get to know to some degree that often will weed out those not really compatible with wants, needs, prefferences, and standards. and keep in mind, thats across multiple apps at the same time where as your 1000+ likely was on 1 app.
wow are you complaining about having had more than enough options?
@aerissa_jade not saying your experience can’t be annoying. But still you have absolutely zero idea what it’s like to have the shoe on the other foot. None at all.
@Filthy_Immigrant Yes, imagine having a thousand choices and they look like a bunch of chickens in a coop, they all look the same, they all promise the same thing. That they aren't looking for just sex, that they will treat me better than the rest and others and yet no matter which one I randomly pick, they lie and end up hurting me.
Options is not a good thing when all of them are literally out to hurt me.
@blueonblack22 That is true but you also have no idea how hard it is to have options but they all suck... and no matter which one you pick, they'll end up cheating on you or hurting you.
@aerissa_jade there was a brief time in my late 20s and early 30s where I had plenty of options too. I was in my physical good looking prime (most girls looked at me as 8 or 9), I was a bit of a local celebrity and I was an environment where there were plenty of single women.
Now besides the fact it actually took a lot of hard work to be in the position (vs. an attractive woman who just born lucky and didn’t have to work for her attractiveness) I got a semi similar experience with dealing with too many options problem too. This includes women lying, treating each other like crap out of jealousy, hitting me when they knew I was taken, trying to make me jealous by flirting with other guys and even sexual harassment.
But those disadvantages are absolutely nothing in comparison to having little or no options. I haven’t fallen off a cliff or anything nowadays. But I have matured into a steady career (that isn’t in entertainment) and I don’t have time to socialize and bullshit just for the sake of it. Although I’ve been told I look good for my age I know I am no longer in male model territory. That time passed years ago. Looks are everything to women but they sure as hell give attractive men a lot more leeway, wiggle room and chances vs. average looking guys.
Bottom line the struggles you have absolutely are nothing in comparison vs what guys want. I also don’t believe every single guy you encountered was horrible. Instead you probably choose the bad guys because they are experts at telling you what you want to hear. In the meantime I’m sure you ignored and/or friendzoned plenty of decent men because they were too “boring” to you.
*looks aren’t everything to women but they sure as hell give good looking guys more leeway and chances…..
Then I hope you were not using tinder cause if you were using that app aka a hookup app then you shouldn’t be complaining.
I mean at least they spoke to you. Me I only got 100s of matches a month, yeah some might say this is good for a guy but no!
90 of those 100s of women all ignored me and the rest that didn’t were either bored single mothers or dumb bimbos with Disney movies expectations that would throw temper tantrums when I told them the truth
So many guys would love to have your problems lol. Just people in general
@WanderingLoveWizard she will never understand this simply because she doesn’t have to. Why should she waste her time and mental effort understanding the ugly truth of it all. She doesn’t want to accept knowing she was born with a huge unchecked privilege.
I really wish western women could be forced to spend just one year as a man. See how it’s nothing like what modern feminists assume. Deal with the continual rejection, stress, expectations and being mocked/dismissed if you dear say something about it. When the year is over they would come back, stare naked in the mirror and thank God they were fortunate enough to be born a female in the western world (Middle East would be a different story).
@blueonblack22 well said
I did not have to "get sick" using them. I simply watched all my friends' sickly results. I saw no need to reinvent the wheel since we already have one so no apps for me... I'll stick with real people and shared space face-face in social, personal, and professional encounters.
Neither the way or the purposes for which they used the applications and/or the games and deception perpetrated by all parties enticed me in any way. And, I sure wasn't going to pay to be constantly manipulated by unreality, hopes, and desires.
I was sick of it after a month surveying it over decade ago.
Yeah. I did it for 2020. It was the most depressing most heartbreaking thing I’ve done. I met up with 14 guys. But it all felt like an interview. Absolutely heartbreaking. It’s not like work-crush or school-crush who you can build a world with and actually get to know. I deleted that shT in the same year and got hella YouTube subscribers from there!!

I’m sick of those apps, yeah.
I don’t think much of what I see on them
I hate online dating. Here's the thing with me that I realized. Girls i've worked with seem a little too friendly which seems in the your handsome type of way. I've dated a few attractive girls that I met through building friendships online, not dating apps. Even my sisters friends have said your brother is handsome. Now before any girl assumes x, y, z - maybe your profile is boring, maybe your pictures aren't good and blah blah blah. Yes, the thing with me is I don't party, I don't do drugs, I am not partying with half naked girls and posting them on IG. I am in shape, I cook good food, I have a sense of style, even the cologne I wear, I have heard girls I work with say, mmmm that's a good scent. I take care of myself by working out, playing sports, I am not a moocher, I work hard for my money and I am in grad school right now. I don't harass girls online and I don't do stupid shit like send dick pics. I truly think girls are the one's who either don't care about opening all their messages or looking at who's liked them on dating apps, they just skip it or have extremely high expectations in guys or men. I think dating apps for women on Tinder is more for one-night stands and short term commitments.
There are more girls nowadays who don't want to get married, they get scared with committing to one guy because girls and women have this odd complex that all men and guys are the same. So if the mistakes she's made by dating bad dudes, take accountability ladies and don't paint all men with the same brush. I used dating apps since 2015 I believe, 8 years later, never gone on one date. I have used Bumble, Tinder, Happn, and others -- zero. It's better to approach women in person and I am not scared to do it. I don't care what female GAG feminist extremist says on here about dating, I don't value a female's opinion where they think a lot of men and guys are shit and they are perfect. Guys are waking up now, it's not just about pussy. If a girl just shows off her body online and whines about guys only want want thing, well what else are you offering besides your pussy and selfies? Girls need to show a nurturing side, not a ho phase side where she wants to sleep with 10 dudes in a span of 6 months and get showered online by dudes DM-ing her.
I think it has to do with:
Overwhelming choices: Dating apps often offer a seemingly endless pool of potential matches, which can be overwhelming and exhausting for some people. The constant swiping and messaging can feel like a full-time job, and it can be difficult to know where to start or when to stop.
Lack of connection: Despite the large pool of potential matches, some people find that they are not able to make meaningful connections through dating apps. They may feel that the interactions are superficial or that the people they are meeting are not a good fit for them.
Burnout: Constantly swiping, messaging, and going on dates can be exhausting, both physically and emotionally. Some people may feel burnt out from the process and need to take a break.
Unwanted attention: Unfortunately, some people on dating apps may be looking for something other than a genuine connection. Some people may experience unwanted attention, such as messages that are overly sexual or aggressive, which can make the experience feel unsafe or uncomfortable.
Disappointment: Despite the promises of finding love and companionship, not everyone on dating apps is looking for the same thing. Some people may experience disappointment when their expectations are not met, or when they discover that the person they have been talking to is not who they appeared to be online.
Sounds like CHATGPT is alive and well lol
I think "internet dating" without the Apps worked far better for me, back in the days when the internet was still very new. Back then you'd meet people in AOL chatrooms and if you lived close by, you'd meet and see where it went from there. When the dating websites showed up, it kind of ruined it in my opinion. Meeting someone on there wasn't special any longer as women get bombarded with messages and yours just gets lost in their mix of messages, in spite of having a lot in common.
I crushed those AOL chat rooms. Those were so good.
I wish those were still around. They were so cool in a lot of ways.
Yeah I was like 26 taking advantage of those rooms. Amazing how we can think about what we would do today in different circumstances with today's technology compared to yesterdays.
I'm an attractive, intelligent woman that dresses consertatively & acts so. I tried dating apps as where I am it's a small town & drug addiction, etc. is quite common (I am not local either).
Let me say, if you're not looking for a fling 90% of dating apps are a waste of time.
Take as example my experience on Bumble. I was only on this app for a week & rarely spent anymore time than that on the others (longest was EHarmony & still lackluster).
.
Anyway on Bumble there's a filter for relationships.
At one point I only had 5 guys who'd "liked" me.
.
Unclick the relationship filter.
And it magically became 65 guys who'd "liked" me.
Been sick of them. I used them to find flings but things changed. Now you have chicks on Tinder looking to only hook up with a Millionaire that's going to pay her average at best looks to be a private hooker. These hoes need to remember they are not that great... and they are just average at best hoe. ... now they cry about where have all the good men gone... cry me a river stupid hoes.
ha ha ha Tinder is a S. hole
These apps have ruined the world that we once knew.
My boyfriend was addicted to them. His bank had about 8 of them automatically taking anywhere from $50/mo to $100/mo - that is a until I stuck my nose in his racket he had going on.
Now we live together and have money in the bank and the bug news is We Are So Happy With Each Other 😊
Congratulations, Sage!
I'm trying two at the moment, but rather in an uncommon way.
One is Veggly, which is for dating vegans.
The other is Happn, which match you only with people that you have crossed paths with.
I'm not messaging anyone myself. Rather I'm using it as an "amplifier" for real life dating, so people I meet know I'm looking for a girlfriend.
If someone messages me I won't chat much. I want to meet in person, or I'm not interested.
Lets see how it works.
Interesting idea
It didn't work out very well :D
I just left the apps.
Nope.
I tried dating apps 3 times, 2/3 were awful and the 3rd time was actually pretty great but I sticked to personal rules and was way more picky.
Would I try it again? Maybe
Do I recommend dating apps? Yeah, if you want to, you should try out but don't swipe everything and don't allow conversation that aren't serving what you're looking for and see it more as a fun experience and not with some desperate intentions in the back of your mind
I said no, bc I've never been on an online dating app. I always figured I would meet the right woman attending things in my everyday life, and it hasn't proven me wrong yet.
I think people get impatient and they are not willing to wait, is all. Yet, they will waste three or four hours in an evening reading profiles that are mostly BS.
I met my SO at a banquet/fundraiser for a hospital to raise money for new equipment. It had been two years since I went out with someone, but the wait was worth it.
I’ve only used an app once with just one match whom I had a 2-3 month relationship with. I’m planning to end due to incompatibility in our schedules and long-term interests. Also felt like in the later stages that I was liked for my body over my personality.
That aside, the thought of liking and matching with a few folks and trying to stay afloat with multiple convos sounds so draining. That, and I feel as if dating apps just come off as quite superficial and I worry for the unsolicited advances folks may make on there/in person if we so choose to meet. I’ve also been told of poor experiences from friends too.
In sum, I would rather meet organically as acquaintances and see where things run.
Dating in general, especially on the apps, can be exhausting. It's a strange balance between wanting to make connections and feeling entirely overwhelmed. People face some degree of emotional fatigue or burnout from online dating
Oh yeah for sure.
they can be hit or miss. Facebook dating that i has used the most since i can't find my type of guys in real life that has a any learning disability. i also has tried bumble, hinge , Badoo and disabled dating apps and website are the top worst out of the dating sites.
I tried it out and pretty quickly realised it did nothing but break my confidence even more. Never got a match from the day I started for months until I deleted my profile.
Didn't help that my friend, who I helped to create their profile was flooded with matches 😂
Yep. There's no point in using them because no one ever meets people on them anymore.
What's the point of sending messages to people who never respond?
The expectation that male profiles have to meet certain criteria to be worthy of interaction while females can just be nothing more than a one liner.
Not to mention all the thirsty dudes on there just looking to one pump and dump.
It's depressing enough using dating sites. But to not have luck with them and needing to soldier on is worse.
What's the point of sending messages to people who never respond?
Why aren't they responding to you? Other men get responses?
To be sick of something would imply your irritated by something. Am I sick of online dating apps? Probably not, no. Tired of them? ... well considering I keep getting the repeated results which is very little to nothing meanwhile other guys get far, far, far, far, far, far beyond more luck than I do,... it does puzzle me to no end, I just shake my head and just think "Whatever,... I'm done with all this B. S. I'm not wasting my effort nor my time with this anymore"... and that's it.
Me: Very little matches and nothing is coming out of this. Some ghost me and the rest are all cat fishers.
The next guy: Hey! I have like 150 matches! Now I'm romantically involved with many girlfriends. love interests, sugar babies, sugar mamas, baby mamas and side chick!
Me: And how the hell did you manage to accomplish all of this?
I just dont use them. I could say im sick of other stuff I've never used as well like Facebook, instagram, tiktok and snapchat but i dont think they’re going anywhere so i’d be wasting my time being sick of em :D
omg i am freaking in love with now. i f-ing facebook and social media sites.
@Vázquez613 aww haha :)
Just seem like a complete waste of time, I've spent many years and only been on a handful of dates. But it's not like I'm going to meet someone elsewhere.
That is the rub. If you don't use the apps where does one go? Reminds me of Hall Pass where they go to Applebees to meet the ladies lol
all I want is to find a forum to discuss sexual matters and all I find is dating whether for sex or something like that
People who use such apps are seeking a top class partner with no mistakes or just having fun and dont take it seriously, I feel sorry for these people looking for a serious relationship on these apps, i used them for fun and i felt bad, they put high standards can be found in 1% of people without realizing that this 1% won't use dating apps however the situation.
No, Professor Frink predicted dating apps and he predicted the computer algorithms would be so precise as to eliminate the thrill of sexual conquest. Which is absolutely has.

I been sick of dating apps since 2016!
which was the last time I used tinder. shit was such a waste of time and energy. matching with 100s of women a month yet only 3-5 would actually put the effort and were willing to talk and most of them were single mothers, and confused bimbos looking for someone to cling on to
Used it once and we've been going strong for 7 years
It's funny seeing all these girls complain about how successful they were on dating apps 🤣
I was on one for 2 years and met ONE girl, and she was a dweeb lol
I mean I get it, they are the fairer sex, but still
I haven't tried one in many years because when you're a guy dating apps are hunting grounds for scammers. There's just way too many fake profiles trying to rope you into paying so you can message them back, get you to sign up for porn, etc.
i'm sick of asking people what their favorite color is
It's the worst lol
Yes coach, just been having bots and no success with dates or matches in general.
Yes, they’re so annoying. I’m on Bumble, Tinder, and Match and they’re just so pushy about how like I haven’t used the app in a while and that there are a ton of single girls in my area. It’s even more annoying when the push notification goes off when my wife is nearby because she’s insanely jealous about those kinds of things.
I live in the US and nearly all the girls who like my profile are from the Philippines, Indonesia or Kenya occasionally from South or Central America and almost never from the US, Canada or Europe and those from the western countries who actually match with me never talk.
I at least want someone in this godforaken country for once.
Nah! I like GaG!
LOL LOL LOL
Have an upvote
I have yet to hear of any successful relationships come of one these apps. However lots of regrets etc.
Never done apps. Guess some have success. Prob. harder than when I was younger.
used dating site - match years ago and met me husband.
Yes because they come on after every commercial and they are inticing for young kids and curious husbands
Yes. Dating apps are dangerous. They make women think they're super models and make men think they're losers. Due to the fact a woman can easily get 1000s of likes, because men swipe right on 50+% of profiles. And women swipe right on like 1% of profiles. It's literally like a video game though because not many people actually intend on meeting you I've discovered. Not unless you're super hot.
I hate dating apps! I discourage all of my friends from using them.
Never used them they are too limiting in the number of different types of people you can meet. And I'm old school.
Fantastic thank you
Yeah. Lots of likes, but no one says anything except “wanna hook up” “do you give bjs” “wanna come over and cuddle”…
I've tried many different websites and APPS. Very , very rarely find someone. So discouraging. Then there's those friend of a friend's that has for some reason high success rate. But I'm not sure the quality of their picks.
I never used one. In the end it's just blind dating and I was always terribly awkward at that. I've never heard one person say a good thing about a dating app and many a horror story.
All apps are waste of time and money. Most of the profiles are fake and are created by scammers. It is better to find girls offline, at temple, church, university campus, family functions, etc.
I’m way to short to get anything from a dating app personally never worked for me 🤷♂️ I do fine in person though I think dating apps cause more bad than good
Can’t be sick of something I never used in the first place.
On line dating apps. I have never used any of them.
Itsnot tve dating apps or the companies behind them. Its the people who use them for ulterior motives. Those with selfish intentions.
Yep I haven't used one since before COVID complete waste of time if you want anything more than casual sex
Yes, I thought it would be good at first, but it is making people more lonely. The singleness aspect hits men particularly hard.
No, but that is probably because I haven't used one for a couple years. Pretty much given up on them. And on dating.
I consider them to be a waste of time. I just don’t have the natural skill and for the quality of girl that’s available, it just isn’t worth the effort
Totally. My wife hates it when I use them. ;- )
Nope I don’t do that but it’s for other people
naw. if you see them for what they are and use them to your advantage, they're fine.
Im not sick of the apps, im sick of how people treat each other on there. Like for real, so hard to get honesty instead of being ghosted or some shiz
Too many catfish scamming people to give them what they want. I’m fed up.
most are like swimming in honey all to thick to get anywhere
Yeah too many fakes on there and scammers, don’t know who is real anymore
