How many dates should you have before sleeping with a guy you’re dating?

In my culture (Japan), it is common to sleep with women on first date. But before everyone thinks this is crazy, we don't date typically to "get to know people". We start off as friends.

For example, I slept with my wife on first date. One passionate thing lead to another. But I was very close friends with her for over a year before we went on even our first date. We had thousands of conversations, did so many activities together from hiking and sports to camping, went to multiple different countries together (not just the two of us; all of our friends), camped next to waterfall and talked about our biggest dreams, attended weddings together of our mutual friends, etc.

I think if people think sleeping on first date is too soon, maybe they might be dating too soon. Friendship first is better way in my opinion.

I think it's closer to the way of our evolutionary history. Bulk of human history was spent surrounded by a community of familiar faces. We most formed loved interests among a familiar face. This is the natural way as I see it; I think dating people we barely know is so unnatural and prone to damage our psychology.

There is a similar thing like people in very densely-populated areas are usually more susceptible to mental illness, and I think it's so contrary to our evolution. It's not the way we evolved to be surrounded by strangers every day that we'll never see again. We are communal creatures designed to see the same people over and over and find our best friends and love interests among them.

I would hope she would be willing to wait at least a month or more. I don't like sex clouding my senses when it comes to getting to know a person.

Even though, you may have great sexual chemistry, it doesn't mean they are the right person to stay in a relationship with.

I would say enough dates that you say you´re safe around him being completely nude. Because if you´re uncomfortable having sex with him at some point he´ll figure that out and start asking questions in his mind what he´s doing wrong.
So I don´t think there is a number.

I've dated some for over a month or longer before we had sex, and also have been on some dates where we barely made it out of the car and into the house and we were having at it.
There is no set number.
It will happen, if it happens when it is time and not before.
