Should I go or should I leave him alone?

There's this guy, we liked eachother but because of my shyness and low self-esteem I've never told him I like him. I thought I'd be toxic and I didn't want to ruin the relationship with him. Later I tried to talk to him via messenger. He replied my first two message since then he ignores me. Sometimes I bump into him in the streets and I'm dying to talk to him but I just can't because I remember that I was lame and he ignores me but last time he stopped and wanted to talk to me but I just said hi and walked away... 😔🤦So the question is. Next month he's going to have an event. Should I go and talk to him how I feel or just leave him alone and let him go?
