I’ve always this thing for a girl at my work. We’ve always been good friends but I feel like recently we were getting kinda closer and I felt like the feelings were getting mutual. We have a really good mutual friend and he was even telling me that she would talk to him about how she likes me and is thinking of giving things a chance.
In fact around a month ago actually we went out one day to the local theme park. It was kinda both of our ideas. Then a few weeks later we went again one night to the pier by the beach near us and then ate dinner together. Things went good and my friend the next day even told me that she was talking to him about how much she enjoyed the night. We even gamed together online a few days later.
Things were seemingly going good until maybe two weeks ago when I asked if she would be free on the days I mentioned but she just left them on read. To be fair she’s not the best texter and has kinda done it before so I just didn’t think much of it until a few days later when I asked if she wanted to game later but she was busy unfortunately. It was fine but I then went to ask if she would like to go do something again soon and offered some days if they’re free but they just ignored it again, second time now.
The whole thing is just weird to me, I mean it’s not like things were one sided. There literally was a mutual vibe I felt. Why else would she be telling people about me positively? There’s only a few reasons I can think of. Either she’s just a player and just lied the whole time, or she does like me but might feel nervous or afraid of commitment. The only reason why I think this is because from what I’ve heard from other friends, she’s been badly hurt in a past relationship and so she might be afraid. Normally if you get ghosted you should just accept it. Part of me kinda just wants to ignore it and move on, but part of me still thinks there’s a shot given the nature of things. Is a new message even worth it? How does this one sound?

I think you have already put the ball in her court. If it were me I would back off until one of two things happen. She responds to you, or you find out she found a different interest - aka:guy. If you keep chasing without results you are just playing the fool. She may even get a kick out of the game she MAY be playing. Or, it could just be something innocent, like she was really busy or something.
She might have met someone else is my thinking. Was in a similar situation but I thought it was friendship and because it was work i was reluctant to take it further. When she got interested in another guy any pretense of friendship evaporated.
I think you should ask your informant first. If you want to say what is n the text don't do it by text - you'll only have a missed unresponded to text I would think. And be only more confused.
