How long does it usually take for someone to make it official?

Yes I'm in my 30's but growing up with strict parents, and being homeless for a while and just focused on work and my education. I never really dated anyone, so one of my co workers that invited me to her baby shower also decided to introduce me to her fiance bestfriend, we hit it off immediately. The way we were talking and laughing, it felt like we have known each other for a long time. He even asked me out that night to grab some drinks and continue getting to know each other and of course I said yes. It hasn't been a full month yet but we text everyday and we've been on 2 dates and 2 lunch dates. I'm honestly starting to really like him but I'm afraid if I say it I might scare him away because it might be too soon?

We're both 31.

Depends on the individual, the amount of chemistry and if they even want to do a commitment

That's what I'm afraid of, I'm scared to know the answer, If he's just in it to date only or actually be in a committed relationship with someone, but I do know he was told that I want to be in a committed relationship. My co worker treats me like a younger sister so she made sure he knew a lot about me and understood what kind of person I was before she decided to introduce him to me. But I feel like I should still have this conversation with him, I might do it when I see him tomorrow, before we continue to date more.

Learn to communicate before you can even think about being official. You have a very long way to go.

Well that's definitely on my behalf because he has been very patient with me when it comes to communicating. He's been helping me actually when it comes to overthinking and getting scared or worried when I say something.
