My new girlfriend earns over double my wage any advice about the problems that will come from that?

We are both in our early 30s and I earn an ok wage but in her job she earns huge amounts of money. It wouldn't bother me before you think I being silly but she can afford to go on expensive holiday and restaurants etc. I can't keep up with her lifestyle and feel eventual it won't be enough. I'm not interested in a lecture about male ego or what not it is what it is and there is a difference if I earn more than her. Is this relationship doom to fail?

If the wage difference already existed when you first dated and that you were open (both of you) about your wages, then there should not be an issue, even in the future.

If, on the other hand, you just recently found out that she earns substantially more and that the one or the other kept their salary a secret, then it may well cause a problem in the future.

Normally, by the age of 30, I would assume that both would be beyond those trivialities about who earns how much and the disparities in revenue.

If your relation worked for a longer period of time knowing that the one earns more than the other, then there is no reason why this should change. If she rubs your nose about how much she makes compared to how much you do, then you know that she is not the right person for you.

Not doom to fail if you both are okay with the amount you earn but if she wants more expensive things she might expect more from you and also you might feel pressured but that can also be a plus to push yourself more as well. It's something you will have to communicate anytime you feel it won't be enough

Definitely be honest. It is a silly thing to be embarrassed about. Let her know you would prefer to do things in your price range, but if she wanted to pay to do other things, you are cool with that, too.

The relationship is not doomed just because she earns more money than you. The real issue is whether both of you respect each other and can handle different lifestyles without resentment or pressure. If you stay insecure about it and never talk honestly about your worries, that is what can damage the relationship.
