What is it with virgins demanding respect?

Want respect for literally nothing? Really? I mean I don’t even need to know that piece of information unless we’re dating or at least I’ve shown some romantic interest in you. Virginity is not something you flaunt. Do you want us to lavish high praise on you and put you on a pedestal and give you a medal for it? I don’t think so. As a matter of fact it has zero value to most people.

Being a virgin is not a bad thing. It is in fact a good thing. Not necessarily deserving of praise or what have you. But it is not an insult like many people that lack self respect make it out to be. I was a virgin until I met the woman I married. More often people tried to use it as an insult or just insult me with "oh you're a virgin you don't know know" or similar. My response was always the same "yes I am because I have self respect and view intimacy differently" not sure I have heard of people demanding special treatment for being one though

I truly believe that there are far fewer adult virgins today than during my boyhood and young manhood, and fewer than that during my parents' salad days in the 30's and 40's, Dad having been born in 1913 and Mom in 1917.

This site is literally to get answers for things that you need help with understanding. Big difference between that and actually demanding respect IRL. And just because I frequently see guys on here asking why they aren't respected as a man for just existing doesn't mean I think all men are like that or do that IRL.

That’s how it should be. I don’t actually have a problem with people mentioning that they’re virgins but trying to show it off as something extraordinary is daft. You’re a virgin? Cool. Now what do you want me to do with that piece of information?
