I don't really like the term "simp." To me, it implies that if you care about a person and like them a lot and/or show your affection openly, that is something undesirable or pathetic.

To answer your question though, I think women as a whole like men who respect both themselves and the woman he's with.

So absolutely show affection towards a lady, just don't sacrifice your self-respect for her.
