We are roommate from last 2 years and I really enjoy her company from day one. Previously I was in a relationship but now I am single again. How can I ask my roommate that I am interested in her (she is single as well).

We sometimes cook together, or go out for shopping, and not more than that. Like no hanging out together.

Instead of asking her directly, and possibly encountering some hesitation, why not just try to plan some date-like events with her and see if anything develops?
