If you were really attracted to a woman, but she stated she was "an independent woman," didn't need a man, etc, would you consider this a challenge to try and get her to go out with you, or would you consider her a total lost cause.
I would neither avoid her or see her as a challenge. I would see her as an individual.
I actually like intelligent women who can think for themselves, have career skills, can support themselves.
"Needing" a man implies that she needs one to survive. That's not my kind of woman. Too needy and clingy can get old, too.
Not "needing" a man doesn't preclude her from "wanting" an honest, ethical, loyal, loving, competent, life-long companion; a romantic partner with which to share mutual respect and adoration. To have fun and grow old together, and to have each other's backs through good times and bad.
She may be feminine, love men, have a strong libido, love sex, and want a trustworthy, monogamous romantic partner.
She may want a man who has similar values, goals and dreams.
Do men see independence in men negatively? Then why should an independent woman be a problem? Are women supposed to be submissive and think of themselves as inferior?
Do men "need" a woman in order to survive, or to they "want" a loyal, loving, feiminine companion?
I would see her as someone to avoid because of what she says. Don´t get me wrong I´m not looking for a woman that depends completely on me and has no life or opinion other than mine but a woman that constantly feels the need to point out to me how strong she´s alone and how well she´s getting along without a man seems insecure and in some way also too competitive for a relationship. That´s an attitude that´s great for business but not something I´d like to have in a relationship.
I´d be ok with dating a woman with a strong character I´d also be ok with her making more than me but I don´t think a relationship would work well if it seems like both partners battle each other to figure out who is the best.
How is an independent woman a challenge. It’s not hard to date us if we actually want to go on a date with you
most men I know prefer independent women... tbh only on g@g I met men who don't like them :D

I prefer an independent woman to be honest , if her and I connect well that’s all that matters
It totally depends on the situation.
Before Raine and I started dating that was one of the things she and I talked about. She is a very independent woman. But she's also totally willing and happy to let me play my "gender role" (if you don't mind me phrasing it like that) and pay when we go out on dates, and plan events/trips I know she will enjoy without giving her anything except dates etc because 1) she appreciates the effort and 2) she enjoys the surprise and excitement.
So I view her independence as neither a challenge nor something to avoid. If she wants to make a decision on her own, she's welcome to do that. She's a grown woman. And if she allows me to tickle her romantic side, even better.
Also side note: independence is a necessary skill in life
I don't think anyone needs anyone and I think that should be pretty common knowledge. We can all live alone and there are many people that have lived alone their entire lives since the dawn of humanity. But I think we do make each other's lives better.
When a woman is a self proclaimed independent woman, it implies many things. It could imply arrogance or narcissism, rejection of help or partnership in a relationship, misandry or anti-relationship, a lack of femininity, preferring solitude, and aggressiveness or defensiveness.
One thing is true about men. We seek peace. For me I don't like self proclaimed "sassy" or "spicy" girls either. Just want a kind, loyal, supportive, and feminine girl that I am compatible with (having similarities in terms of views, interests, sense of humor, communication, sexual compatibility, etc.)
No "Spice Girls" for you, eh, boyo?
Nope I'm good without that 😂
What people say and what they do is often very different. If she's shouting from the rooftops about how independent she is, she probably isn't. It's like a guy saying he has a big cock. If he has to say it, it probably isn't true. A woman that actually is self-reliant and strong-willed will just be that and not have to boast about it. She'll just show me she is. I'll see it in her actions and that will be attractive to me. But if she insists on lengthy monologues about how she doesn't need men, then I'm turning the channel.
I don't think she's a lost cause, but I'd avoid her. I'm an adult. My girl is an adult. We have both been raised right. If I go away for a week, she's not going to die. She's old enough to survive on her own. Adults don't need another to survive. Our SPECIES does require us to be together to survive. This is common sense. She can carry out the garbage bags perfectly on her own, it'll just take a little longer.
No big deal. Has she ever said those lines "independent" and "I don't need a man"? Never. She's not about that feminist talk. And that's why I'd avoid her, because she for some reason feels the need to remind us that she's reached adulthood and doesn't need her parents to buy her things.
Being independent is not a relationship skill. There are no advantages of being with someone who is independent. I have nothing against independent women but I probably let them stay independent because it's not a good reason to be with someone. There has to be more to it to have a relationship
The very crux of a relationship is you want the other person. I guess in the reverse it would be like one of those MGTOW guys. I always say, go where you are wanted and well if someone is already proclaiming they don't want you for whatever reason, time to find someone who does.
Well put. I've been saying for a while that the Red Pill community is the male version of the angry feminist community and both are equally unattractive
Someone to avoid, I am all for her being a capable girl who can hold her own if she needs to. But what I don't like is the whole "I don't need no man" attitude. That tends to be a toxic type of woman who I doubt would align well with me. So its an avoid for the attitude, not an avoid for skill.
Yes.
Of course. Fools would take her seriously.
When has any man EVER declared I am independent? Never. A woman who even feels the need to boast that already has revealed she is low quality.
Who actually goes around saying "independent" What is she independent of? Oh, men. That's right. She walks around boasting of not needing men.
Any man who pursues that toxic, rabid feminist is an utter fool.
Just avoid her. She would be a bad partner. The women that claim they are independent often hate men and frequently insult them to their friends behind their back, are not actually independent, and expect the man to do more for her in the relationship than she does for him, but still doesn't appreciate anything he does for her.
Neither. I'd just think: "Good for her", and continue living my own life without thinking any further on the matter.
I mean thinking sensibly about it, those sorts of women would probably be the best match for me, because 100% of my relationships failed on account of me being the cat who walks by himself... but it couldn't logically happen as individuals who don't need anyone else wouldn't ever get together in the first place.
Women who say they are “independent” are a massive red flag. They are always… And I mean ALWAYS entitled, ignorant, c words, who can only claim “independence” Because they live in a sheltered bubble created and maintained by the men they hate, and get through life on a gynocentric society that coddles them, removes all obstacles, and essentially treats them like delicate fragile children who have zero accountability
Any woman feels the need to proclaim she is an independent woman has serious problems that I want no part of. It's like proclaiming "I can tie my own shoes" or "I wipe my own ass". So the fuck what?
If it's important enough to a woman that she feels the need to say it, she doesn't deserve my time or attention.
Not really about what she says. If there is some sort of underlying resentment behind that then I can sense it and it's a huge red flag
If she's just expressing her desire to achieve and it doesn't seem based in anger, then no problem!
She would be useless in a relationship since life is all about herself. To be with her would be like putting a cockroach on top of your dinner meal.
Waste of time because she has mental issues. Independent people don't need to say things like that, that's something someone with insecurity issues would say. Not interested in someone with that kind of problem.
If she says she "Don't need a Man" then why should I (A Man) be with her?
I am not wasting a second with a woman who considers me an adversity , Screw them
A challenge of course but to a point, I mean if she is close to insanity I would not bother too much, if she is still sane, eats healthy and I really like her would sure try to get to know her better
I'm sure for some it's a shield to protect them from men who have hurt them and potential ones that may in the future, but I think it just puts a brick wall up and turns guys a way for good reason.
You can't give hope up bcs n men were idiots makes no sense and it is not an intelligent behaviour generally speaking
Someone to avoid like the black plague. In nearly 100% of cases where she advertises being a "strong independent woman" she is anything but, and usually a self absorbed narcissist
A independent woman who doesn't need a man also doesn't need to tell it to other people.
Not a deal breaker nor would there be any need to avoid her but I would interpret that as her currently not looking for a relationship.
To be honest it's the same thing when you Women go for someone who is more Confident us Guys are going to be more Attracted to a Girl who says She is the Opposite of being an Independent Strong Women, Whatever you would call that.
I would tell her that I am glad she doesn’t need a man and ask her if she would want one? I would let her know that I was interested if she was….
Ha, this is such a smooth answer. I'm rooting for you!
How could I be attracted to her if she doesn't like men?
Best kind! I don’t want a useless twat that’s too clingy. Ambitious, smart, and talented girls are sexier.
It's definitely NOT an attractive quality. If I were attracted to her I'd still date her and have sex with her but would be more cautious about anything longer term pending further investigation into her personality.
A Woman who is a "self-proclaimed independent woman" is someone to avoid as they also tend to have a Narcissistic Personality, the ones that do not have a Narcissistic Personality are very few and far between.
The former if she's hot and at least somewhat reasonable.
She'd be as much to handle as a woman on the couch lazy - sigh 😭😔
I'd avoid her. I want a wife who will stay at home with the kids and I work for us. I want a good motherly person not a professional rival.
Then i would know that she does not need me, but if she spends time with me it is because she likes me
Avoid. I don't have a "large and in charge" attitude, so why would I want it in a girlfriend / wife?
Recreational use only. She can get pumped and dumped repeatedly on her way to a lonely death.
Any woman who speaks like this is a hard pass.
Women are so difficult it is possible to make any relationship last
Impossible
She Wouldn't get that much out before I'd be gone.
Lost cause. She is completely brainwashed
Generally someone to avoid.
Neither.
Avoid.
