Why do single mothers get a bad reputation?

Probably the bad single moms…. Sadly some people will not look at individuals on a case by case basis. There are some very shitty examples of single moms don’t get me wrong. But that’s not to say there isn’t women in different situations

Because people like to blame women for all their misfortune. Even though most of the time, a single mom is only single mom because the dad didn't want to be there anymore. Which is fine, they don't have to be together and aren't obligated to be. Things change, and situations can get shitty. But you don't see the same reputation placed on single dads for a very obvious reason.

They don’t. Men love single mothers, and they go after single mothers far more often than they go after a woman who’s child-free. Men love women who have multiple baby daddies and are eager to play stepdad to another man’s children. And I’m 100% serious about this. It’s not sarcasm

Because of the dysfunctional and chaotic lives most of them lead. Because a lot of them try to take advantage of men.

It's not necessarily about bad reputation but if you think from a Man's perspective, why would he pick a single mother over a not a single mother when he can get both?

Also in most cases the child hates the man and the mom sides with the child.

For those who think that way, it seems to be the assumption that the women let any random guy hit it and/or do so in order to get government freebies or child support.

Because the man doesn't want to be involved with the kids. Also it feels like adultery. Kids fear step parents.
