Mixed signals as a friend?

I met this guy and he asked me out. We met and had lunch, during that he said he was looking for casual stuff (he's the type that sleeps around with girls) and I was looking for long term. He mentioned that he can't see us dating and I agreed, so we agreed to be friends. That day we hung out till night at the mall, and during that he made small touching gestures like touching my cheek and my hair.

A month later he asked me to hang out again, but this time we had dinner and hung out till midnight. During that time I was taking a pic of the food and he took a pic of me while I was doing so. He also then again made small touching gestures while adhering to my physical boundaries that I mentioned to him. I noticed his cheeks were flushed too. He picked and sent me back, and when dropping me off he asked for a hug.

Suddenly a week after that, he said that we should stop going on dates to which I replied: I thought we were hanging out as friends? His reply: I'm sorry you couldn't tell. I think that says it all doesn't it. I'm sorry I can't do this with you anymore.

So I told him I was adhering to what we agreed upon as friends, what is he trying to say here? to which he blue ticked it.

Why is he doing this, does this mean he doesn't care/like me anymore?

He was just playing nice hoping he could get into your pants. You were making it clear you just see him as a friend so he isn't interested. It seems pretty clear that is all it is lol.

Yes, in some way he wants to be more than that. Could mean a relationship or something that isn't as serious. Who really knows.
