Was my mom being irrational or am I mistaken?

So this morning a guy came from the city to adjust/ fix the water meter of our house…. then when I’m on my way to work my mom texts me saying that the water bill is gonna be much higher and for me to be taking my showers at my boyfriends place on the weekends…(my toilet also happens to be leaking and that could be what’s making the bill a bit higher).

she was assuming that water is included with his maintenance fees but it’s not and secondly my mom always talks about my boyfriend anytime there’s an issue with something at the house…

im not married to my boyfriend yet and secondly I’m not gonna go there like a homeless bum just to use his shower….

was I right to be mad with her? Is she being irrational or am I mistaken here?

My boyfriend pays a separate bill for his hydro and water - he lives in a newer building and it’s not included in his maintenance fees…. I saw his bill for myself.

Then my boyfriend said he’s nice enough to let me stay for the weekend without paying him anything. He also said that my mom doesn’t think things through before she speaks.

Well you can get mad at anything in this world. But its a waste of time and makes you feel bad. So its not worth it.

If the toilet is leaking water. That's anywhere from twenty to fifty to eighty gallons a day if it's leaking all day xs. 1 week 2 weeks. And so on

so be happen and fix the problem depending if its leaking. Or if the water is just running. That's even a bigger cost. But if its leaking on to the floor and touchs wood it's going to be 5 times the cost. Because now you have to replace your floor.

It's totally ridiculous to tell you that you have to do that. Because sooner or later, the toilet has to be fixed. Otherwise the floors gonna have to be fixed. And then you're both gonna be over at his house.

So tell me about the leak I will tell you how to fix it. Sooner the better

Sounds like to me your Mum is being unreasonable, sometimes they can be! But don't be mad at your Mum, because your Mum is a special person to you.

Obviously you can't take a shower at your boyfriends, but if I was your boyfriend, you would be welcome to do so at my place 🙂

My water bill keeps rising every year, so it's it's only to be expected to rise again.

I do try to reduce my water usage because of water shortages, but I've always refused a meter, because I don't want the cost to be the reason for restricting usage.

I think it’s time for you to move out of your Mom’s and go get your own place , or move in with your boyfriend or with a friend and get away from your Mom as much as possible , it seems the 2 of you do t agree on a lot of things , so you are best to remove

I only work part time 3 days a week and I’m paying off a debt so I’m in no position to move out. Also my boyfriend and I aren’t married yet and I don’t feel right moving in unless we are.
