The short version is I met him at my friend’s house, he is my friend’s brother.

Well technically I think we briefly met in school before that but I didn’t know him well there, he was two years older than me and I didn’t think of him as someone I might date at that point.

The longer version is that my brother was two grades behind me (he is actually more like a year younger but it just worked out to be two academic grades difference) so I was in college when he was in his last years of high school and, he was frustrated about not being more popular or getting invited to things, he wouldn’t say it to me, but I heard about it from others. I was popular in high school and decided to secretly help him. He still does not know I did this. I was friends w a girl in his class who was popular and I got her to mention him in positive ways and get him invited to stuff and, she did. She and I hung out quite a bit and I was at her house when her brother was home from college in Georgia. She is two years younger than me and he is two years older than me, anyway I knew who he was and was friendly to him but didn’t even think about whether he liked me or whether we might date, he was polite but didn’t say much at first, but at some point I noticed him looking at me and when I caught him doing that he looked embarrassed so I started to suspect something was going on, then later my friend told me he kept bringing me up and asking about me (while still trying to play it cool) and next time I was there I looked right at him and smiled and he walked up and started talking to me.

We have been together a while and love each other! And she is still one of my best friends and, my brother still does not know about the other stuff.

I met my wife online, on zoosk. com. Our first in person meeting was for dinner at a restaurant near her home.

So far she was a user on this website, she posted a riddle about herself I managed to figure out which got her interest. Initially it ended there, but when she gave me MHO a week later we took things to DM's and discovered instant compatibility. From the question we already knew we were compatible and both had what the other was looking for, so we became close friends. That grew into a beautiful 2 year relationship (although for the longest time we didn't make it official so in reality we were probably only official for 4 months, but that was because we wanted to make it official in person and the lockdowns made it hard for us to meet) and it was a depth beyond what I thought was possible. Unfortunately the circumstances didn't align in the end, we were not able to transition to in person before she lost the ability to talk in my timezone. If the circumstances had been different we'd still have been together.

She is the most special girl I ever met and I have yet to meet someone I am that compatible with. But considering that we couldn't make it work in the end time will tell if she's actually the love of my life, or if I will meet someone again who I can love that much.

We were perfect strangers both on dates , just not with each other , the restaurant was fairly quiet as we sat separated by one table window adjacent , and noticed each other as we awaited they’re arrival.


When it seemed that we had both been stood up , as she got up to leave, I stopped her and proposed that we should share a meal reasoning that the effort she had made in looking particularly beautiful should not go entirely to waste by her setting off still hungry and annoyed on her journey home.


I half expected to be given the brush off , or worse , but instead she smiled and sat down at my table.
