How do you respond to late night text messsages?

I got a message from the guy that lives next door the other night around 10:30 asking me what I was up to. He had asked me to hang out with him the other week, and I told him no so I ignored this message. Was it inappropriate of him to send me a message at that time of night or am I over thinking it?

Wow... I didn't know 10:30 was that late lol but umm you should chill out and relax. He didn't do nothing wrong. If it bothers you that bad then tell him you don't like text messages after a certain time... Your over thinking it and no offence but it seems like something only a bitchy girl would bitch about (just saying) so if I were you I would re-look the situation and re-think what I said. Its not worth over thinking it that much

well, I wouldn't call it inappropriate, just not well-timed. don't most people your age stay up late anyways? he probably just figured you were up and not doing anything. don't take offense at that, I myself go to bed at 9:00 so I can't really be talking. he most likely just wanted to talk to you, so I'd say you are over thinking it.

I reply if I'm awake and wait till morning if I see it when I get up. Late to me is the message I got at 12:30AM last night... mind you I got him back, replied when I left for work at 5:30AM.

10:30 doesn't seem that late, but I suppose it depends on each person what they think late is.

He might have been bored or had trouble sleeping. And felt like texting you then instead of waiting till the next day.
