B. People should know their place in society
C. Only the upper classes can hope to be saved
D. If someone hits you, you have the right to hit them back
I would say none of the above.
A. Only those who have repented, confessed, been baptised and then done their utmost to follow the teachings of Jesus can be saved. So, self evidently, not everyone is equal before God. I would also point to the encounter between Jesus and a Sumarian woman at a well. He used an ancient Hebrew word that translated as 'dog' to refer to the woman. In the cultural context of the time, he called her subhuman. Jesus was a Jewish supremacist.
B. This point is debatable, based on the writings of the apostles after the death of Jesus, but a strong argument can be mounted for the 'yes' case.
C. See the response to point A.
D. No, although it must also be pointed out that Jesus was not a pacifist. Evidence of this occurred in the Garden of Gethsemane, when Peter drew his sword and struck a servant of the high priest of the Jewish temple. It would be reasonable to speculate that Peter had carried that sword throughout the three years that he spent with Jesus. If Jesus had a problem with that, he would surely have said something. Also, in Jesus' own words, he told people to buy a sword with which they could defend themselves, even if they had to sell their cloak to get the money.
E. If a city doesn't convert, it's fate will be worse than the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.
F. Sell your coat to buy a sword
G. The OT Laws remain unchanged
H. if you don't pay the tithe, you'll drop dead, like Ananias and his wife.
I. Pay your taxes to the govt also.
A is part of Jesus's teaching. C is incorrect because anyone can be saved. D is incorrect because you aren't supposed to return evil for evil. And I don't think B is ever directly addressed in the Bible. 😊
