Why are such a small proportion of people left-handed?

My little sister is left handed. She was born 12 years after me and my family and I have two ideas why she is left handed.
1. She gained it through family. My grandmother is left-handed and so is my uncle, each on opposite sides of the family so there is part of the factor that the instinct to draw and eat with he left hand originated through the family.
2. She mirrored us. Like most infants, my family believes that her work to mirror her older sisters and family drove her to eat with her left hand. Since we eat with our right hand, it would make sense if she sees us eating and copies how we hold our forks and pens she would begin to "mirror" us to learn— in an opposite sense. Her lack of knowledge between left and right also helps so even if she began eating with her right hand, she would see it as wrong because she is not doing what we are doing.
Does that make sense? sorry it's hard to put in words.
I'm left handed and my mum doesn't like it but we are considered I think it was more talented but I believe it's based off how you see things it is incredibly hard trying to use scissors and people never seem to notice I'm left handed but it feels good to be a little different I don't know much about it besides we are supposed to be more creative and intelligent funny since I have no common sense 😂
I'm ambidextrous but I prefer my left hand (I write neater neater my left). 12% of the population is left handed the last time I checked. It doesn't make too many things difficult apart from cutting (the left handed scissors only work on right handed people the fuck?) opening cans, writing on a metal ringed book, writing with inky pens, how you always have smudges everywhere even if the pen isn't inky (writing a neat birthday card is an absolute nightmare) when you go to shake someones hand (I go for the left and they go for the right) when you have those cutesy mugs no one sees the writing. Small tables are a nightmare clashing elbows etc. This is only me probably but when you open a door outwards with your left hand I keep forgetting to use my right hand. It's embarrassing when you play rounders and they ask the people to move just because you're the only left handed person and you know you won't hit the ball.(You bat in the opposite direction when you're left handed) you always have to sit on the left edge of a table so you dont nudge anyone
I'm left handed when writing or doing things that may require precision. I play basketball with right hand being dominant hand and tennis with both.
They say lefties are more creative, great multitaskers, have higher intelligence, suffer migraines more, more likely to suffer from sleep deprivation and live less years than righties. Seems like there's pros and cons to it lol.
I’m right handled and most things are set up that way, not sure why some people favor the left side but maybe the right Half of their brain is the dominant side
I believe that it is a genetic trait that has also been linked to Evil. Joe Biden Has it, as does Nancy Pelosi. George Bush Sr. had it but not his sons.
