I know it sounds dumb but I haven't been able to sleep and hardly have eaten the last 2 days after getting layed off. I dont want be in my apartment alone budgeting unemployment. However I also dont want to spend too much just in case I decide to wait this out and move again. I'm on every job board, had a recruiter reach out while I was employed still that is currently helping me. Even a former coworker has connections to a company 15 minutes away and I may have a little hope on getting back in the game in a month so unemployment won't be needed. Overall I am confident but terrified at the same time. I'm contemplating taking my pet back to my parents and regrouping so I have some support but I'm scared to tell them.

As far as telling your parents, both about getting laid off and needing support, there's nothing to worry about. People get laid off all the time and talking through things can help to at least keep things in perspective.
